Damo: Because Alfa never made the Chassis/Engine number line up I don't think ORIGINAL to the car matters but the correct type of engine does (for purists anyway). Store that 1750 engine. They're getting pretty thin on the ground. 2000 engines are far easier to find (and abuse ). Even after you get my (oop's, I mean your) Berlina I'll still have at least one spare engine for my GTV. I had to cannibalise my spare gearbox when I blew up the one in the Berl. Space really limits my ability to get another spare boxs.

Adam, you've convinced me to store the 1750 engine.
If I build the 2lt into a beastie engine, when the time comes to sell the Berlina, I could always rebuild the 1750, and put the 2lt beastie in the GTV.

I dont know exact figures, but I dont think the cost of shipping a car from here to the UK outweighs the difference between buying 105 series cars in similar conditions between the two markets. When I had the Giulia Super for sale a couple of years ago, I had a guy call me from the UK who seemed quite sure that he couldn't have bought a similar car for anything like as little money in England, and that included the cost of shipping.
Similarly, a really lovely Giulia Super that I was choosing between when I bought my 1750 in June, ended up in England. That car was in the ACT, and it was really, really nice.

V6 Alfetta Sedan. 3.0lt engine (haltech efi) and complete V6 driveline. Goes like the Clappers!
Long Comments 1977 Alfetta sedan which has been fitted with a 3.0lt V6 from a 164. The motor was rebuilt some time ago and is in vgc. The standard computer has been replaced with a easy to use haltech efi F10 system. Front brakes are V6 and the car has 32 mm torsion bars and koni reds all round. It has the V6 tailshaft with the larger donuts and the complete V6 rear transaxel with isostatic gear shift, stronger clutch, diff, halfshafts, wheel hubs, wheels ect. The body is in solid condition and has never needed restoring. The body deadener had been removed from the floor to reduce weight and the floor pan re-painted .
This car has had 100's of hours spent on it with lots of other small mods that i cant even remember. Heres a bit of a list.
GTV front seats.
GTV6 Radiator with twin fans.
In tank fuel pump and external high pressure pump.
Alfa 90 clutch line.
Alfa 90 exhaust (02 sensor fitted).
Modified airbox (no afm).
Modifications to the body shell to fit larger donuts and isostatic system.
Modified rear engine mount.
If your interested in using this for a club car/ road car feel free to give us a call and come and have a look.
I am not at all desperate to sell the car however i am getting a bit sick of the car yard in the back yard.
Note: I am currently painting the car as the paint was becoming a tad ratty and a few rust spots required attention befor they became an issue so the car will have new red paint.

It's amazing how much money some people are prepared to spend to destroy an otherwise nice car!
My estimate would be:
purchase price - $20k
modifications - $60k
current value - $0k
doesn't quite stack up!

Hey guys..check out ebay..there's a scalino GTV 1750 in rather poor condition ,primed for restoration.I'm quite angry because its similar to what i am after however the timing is poor for me as i have absolutely no where to store it.
It would be good to see someone fix it up.
How much do you think it's worth in such condition.?

How much is it worth in its current condition? Nothing!!
But, how much will you have to pay for it to get it, that's a different story. If the reserve is any higher than $2k the seller is dreaming.
Look at it like this....
It'll cost at least $20k to get that car to a high standard. At that point it'll be worth $20k! So whatever it costs you to buy it is money lost.
