Lot's of work done, but lots more to go. Good price considering that it's a space frame.

The thing about the TZ reps for me is that they look a bit "light" for the Berlina, perfect for the Super. The GTA reps look more substantial, and like they can handle the slight extra weight of the Berlina. Since neither wheel was ever used on the Berlina 'officially', the car isn't going to look wrong with one wheel or the other.
We should start a little list of non-factory and non-Autodelta alloy wheels that look good on Alfa 105s. I cant even think of any off the top of my head - but they're out there!!
Personlally, I think one of the best looking wheels for the Berlina is the Momo Vega. So potentially, you can get a set of GTA reps for the blue car, and put the Vegas on the 'Lina!

Ben - Vegas only look good on 2000 berlinas or GTVs, you know that..
BTW, I only just noticed your "short term wants" section.... Alfetta GTV? You're insane. What happened to the Alfa 75 you were going to get
Oh and damo, I don't want to hear another peep out of you when it comes to "oh dont wanna spend too much money on that"... This coming from a man who has just bought ANOTHER whole car, is paying for a 1750 rebuild.. and is even bothering to spend money on a 1750 berlina in the first place! these are the craziest kinda people

Ben, yeah I could put the GTA rims on the GTV and put the momo's on the Berlina, but awwww man the momo's look so hot on the GTV, they really seem to suit the LeMans blue too!
It's a little while before I have to worry about wheels, so I'll just ponder it for now.
Pete - I'm no longer rebuilding the 1750 engine. Am going to use the engine, gearbox and diff from Adam's car. Will have to wait till the car arrives to see if there's any work needed on the engine etc, but if it runs well and has no oil leaks, Michael said he'll drop it straight in. I'd rather spread my costs out and do the performance rebuild later on if I can.
Will wait and see what the carbies are like and then decide if we rebuild the webers from the 1750, or use the carbs from Adam's car. The 2000 also has electronic ignition which will go on the 1750 as well.
Don't know yet what to do with the 1750 engine and box. On the one hand it would be good to keep it, so if I sell the car the original engine is still with it. On the other hand, a guy at work is interested in buying it for a kit car he's gonna build.
One could argue that Berlinas will never be worth enough to worry about keeping original items, but people would have said that about GTVs a few years ago.
Over the weekend I'll start a new thread on my Berlinas so people can follow the progress and it's all documented here in one place.

Damo - I'm biased - but as an example take a look at Giulia Supers or TIs now. A few years ago they were still treated with a fair degree of "mmm so what" by even the Alfa 105 faithful but are now enjoying steady values and very loyal ownership. I think as time increases any 105 will become sought after, simply because they are Alfa Romeos in the traditional sense, RWD with the DOHC engine. Sure, a berlina or even a super will never match a GT or Spider for price on identical condition, but they will only increase from here.
It depends who buys it off you eventually I guess but.. anyway. All things to ponder.

Pete - I think you're right about sedans growing in popularity, which is why I'm in two minds about disposing of the 1750 engine. I don't want to stray too far from original, and want to make sure any mods that are done can be reversed.
So I'm half inclined to store the 1750 engine. Even though it would need a rebuild, at least I could tell future buyers that the original engine comes with the car.
