perhaps a good way to form a list would be to take (borrow) it from the various state devision alfa clubs websites... once we make a shortlist we could possibly gather feedback on each vendor and post with hte listings a brief comments section...

I use Milano in Melbourne and Manning Motors in Sydney mostly for my parts. I also like Classic Alfa in London.

I use Milano also, and often Highwood Alfa in Wales, EB Spares and Classic Alfa in England. Even with currency conversion and shipping, their prices are still often cheaper than sourcing parts locally. Chris at Highwood Alfa is particularly good to deal with, and I usually have parts in 2-3 business days from Wales! I can't always get them from Milano Spares that quickly!

iv usually gone to millie miglia motors, if ebay hasnt got whats needed, and joe's always been incredably quick and helpfull for anything.
locally, in bendigo, i goto Euro Auto Works on collins st, thier helpful but not too quick at all, it really depends on what your looking for.
as for priceing, iv got no idea on if thier cheap or not, its what im willing to pay and if iv got much more of a choice...

whats the details on this milano place? iv never heard of it...

Milano Spares in Thomastown....you'll find them in the yellow pages.

They're an Alfa wrecker, and stock a lot of new parts as well.

I recommend Milano - if you can be patient and resourseful you'll usually find what you're after. And they're not rip off merchants.

In Canberra, I had a lot of help for many years from Peter Dowling at Autotech Services in Fyshwick AND he has a dyno!

In Perth, I used Ciliberti Motors. Like Milano, they had A LOT there both second hand NOS and repro and rarely missed anything for my Alfas and Fiats.

And in Byron Bay, I recommend... ...Classic Alfa in London.

Are we allowed to shame on here? I know of one Melbourne shop which has caused more than his far share of trouble for myself and others. If you'd like details perhaps PM me - but I'd much prefer anyone with a 105 didnt go there for the sake of their cars and their sanity...

As usual, I agree with Pete and will hapily back up what he says with my own experiences to save a fellow BBer from being similarly mis-lead.

Here's what I'll do. Here's the problems I had in just TWO visits to this shop before I terminated any further dealings. If you'd like to know how to avoid such disappointment you can PM me.

- Never calls back, and sounds notably annoyed by attempts to contact.
- Gives dates of completion and promises - 2 times on first job, 3 times on second
- Took 9 days (7 business days) to complete a standard service and change LHF suspension bushes. I needed my car back and took it after only the LH side had been completed, although the work on both sides was requested. Apparently didn't have enough bushes in stock, although what reputable Alfa business would run out of a 105 item like that. I think this was probably more a lie to cover the slothful pace of work.
- Took 13 days (10 business days) to recondition brake MC and provide an RWC
- Incorrectly diagnosed brake fault as brake MC failure.
- Incorrectly informed me the car had a 2000 engine fitted, which the block markings disprove
- Incorrectly informed me the car had been probably been privately imported from the UK, disproved by Archivio Storico and known history of the car.
- Leaves cars outside the workshop in a publicly accessible area with keys in the ignition.
- Wrong spark plugs fitted on service and timing poorly set. As a result the car was idling terribly just weeks after service.
- For the price, VERY disappointing.

Ben has had some issues here too which are equally alarming, and Im sure he'd be more than happy to explain.

Don't forget McKone Automotive in Sydney for hard to find parts.

I've used ASV spares in Sydney - not the cheapest, but they had what i needed when no-one else did, they also carry s/h parts.

My personal favourite is Turin Imports though, generally good on price and I know that I can order a part online at 4pm & it'll be on my doorstep at 10am the next business day. Only carry new stuff, but can generally source hard-to-get new stuff for my 164 or 33 when no-one else can.
