dont trust your mates with tow trucks

Went for a drive this morning to charge the battery
Battery did not accept the charge and stopped the engine.
Called my mates to pick me up in a tow truck
Look what they sent.
It is the biggest Tow Truck in Sydney, mainly used for buses and semi trailers etc.
Usually charged out at thousands of dollars to pick you up.
Lucky I did not have to pay

Robert

Slight overkill I think one would have to say Rob. Glad the cost wasn't prohibitive.

As I said at the begining= Dont trust Your mates.
With over 12 tow trucks,,they send this one,for a laugh.
Was free, and they thought it was funny also.
And HeavyMetalAlfa,= Alfas are never boring, and all Alfa owners like the Alfa adventure. You aint boring either.
Cant wait for the snow to melt for you.

You have some funny mates Rob . Can imagine the laughs all around.

Don't think I have any mates with such a haul rig. My brother has a few 4wds that usually get ropped into hauling cars around (though presently all are quite literally off the road at the moment), so his current tow car is his black '71 w108 3.5 280 Mercedes. It is also his staff car for his rafting business. Cool hey !

Hi Alfio

have a few people interested in the 75.
I have enough projects at the moment and space is running out.
I presume you mean Bruce= the tow truck driver.
Funny guy.
He just needed somewhere to park the tow truck for 1 hr.
My car was there also,so it made a funny picture.
Good to see your 33 is back on the road

Robert

hi rob

yeah i drove past and saw the 75 looks nice is it the 1.8,2.5, or the 3ltr ?

my 33 was on the road but i took it off the road in december and ripped the engine/gearbox out all because of a broken valve spring in the heads

i was losing compresion at low revs so it was a ****ter to drive up until 60 km'

i got the heads redone on the car and a few other things etc new belts and that ... much a new engine but only issue now is it wont start

i turn the ignition it feels like its about to turn over but it back fires out of carburator

i think its because the timing belts are out ? i done the belts myself and the crankshaft pulley spun freely without hitting anything in the engine so not to sure??

what do you think rob ??? do you think timing ??

Hi Alfio

First thing to check would be the cam timing.
Then check the distributor leeds are on the right spark plugs.

i didnt hear any noises and i turned the crankshaft pulley by hand before and after i started the car and it turned nicely without anything hitting so im sure it should be okay .
