.

Craig is well worth the time to call. He's worked on a number of my cars and I've always been happy. I've also bought a few sets of tyres from him for my road cars. I know a number of people who rely on him for motorsport tyres and I'll be heading there once the tyres on the Alfa are stuffed (or more stuffed?). 07 3865 1072 is his number.

Gday Gents,

Thought I'd close the loop on the tyres. I went with medium Dunlop DZ03Gs in 225/45-16from the guys at QR. They let me scrub them in in practice befroe Top Gear and I managed to work my way down to 65.27 . Very happy with both the tyres and the RS kit that Chris and Cam at Automotion installed for me. The red stuff pads the boys put on really woke up on this last run (probably wans't going hard enough last time) and I am nearly always on the brakes to early.

I think there is still a fair bit more pace in the car, but I am only just getting my head around how fast I can turn into turn 1 and how well the car changes direction.

Hoping to have one more go before the end of the year at either Top Gear or SAS. Hope to see you all there.

Thanks for the advice.

Dan

nice - what rims do you run those on and how do you go for clearance?

Rims are 16 x 7 DTM Finn, I think like your 17s. I have a slight clearance problem on right hand inner guard on about 1/2 - 2/3 lock to left. But if I hadn't hit a Kangaroo a couple of years ago I don't think I would. I have been running road tyres for so long, that part of the spoiler has worn away and I encouraged the metal back a little with a mallet. I have't noticed any issues on track.

yeah, mine hit there with the road tyres (and that's with 205/45 17) - it was nothing that a bit of trimming with the grinder couldn't fix, but I was wondering how you'd get on with the 225s (although it is heavily dependent on wheel offset - do you know what your Fins are?) .

Unsure I didn't check when they were off the car, but will have a look next time. If its not stamped I'll try and measure it.

Congrats.

Told you hitting the 65s would be easy with the RS and semi's!

ROCK ON
