I may very well be wrong as I wasn't paying the greatest attention to the news at the time (18mth yr old daughter was screaming around the house using a glass plate as a drum)....

but....

I thought I heard on the news a few days back that they were potentially going to lift import and trade tariffs with the uk to spur on spending/trade some more...

I had a quick search on the net and couldn't find anything that suggested this may be the case. Not to say you didnt hear correctly but it could be this bloody sneaky government throwing out red herrings to boost consumer confidence.
Would be great if you were right though!

i'll be the first to say i'm wrong more times than right - and if it was on broadcast news it should be written somewhere as well....

just know that when I heard what I thought I heard, I got excited by the thought of not losing out so much on Alfaholics and other suppliers goodies (not that we don't get our ar$3s kicked with the exchange rate anyway).

Regarding customs.........I heard there are no added customs for parts for Vintage cars? Is this so, or it is only based on the invoice value?

Edit: Sorry I did not see this is for Australia , I am in the US.
