Radio Woes

My '91 Spider was in the shop with the battery disconnedted for about 2 months. When it came back, when the factory origianl Alfa radio "turns on" but it will not play or do anything but display the code: 1265. (In the past when the battery went dead, it displayed: CODE and would accept the 4 digit security code. When it's displaying 1265, it will not accept the security code, or recognize any button inputs)

I called Clarion who made the radio, but they didn't have error codes going back that far.

Q1. Does anyone know what's wrong and how to solve it.

Q2. If it's not a simple fix, I plan to replace it with an HD radio. Can anyone interpret the wiring for me? I'm assuming that the 8 spade connector is the speakers with the like colored wires denoting the same speaker. But, But, I cannot tell which wire is power, etc. on the 6 spade connector.

I'd appreciate any help that you can provide.

You need to hold down a button for ten seconds and it will clear the incorrect 1265 code, then you can enter the correct code. I think it's the "band" or "AM/FM" button but I can't remember at the moment. Anyway, it's in the radio manual if you have it, or just try them all.

Thanks Gubi. Holding the AM/FM down for 10 seconds did it (brought up the CODE0.

You still may want to consider a new head unit. Made a world off difference over my OEM Clarion...
