Fontana Time Trail...

What a GREAT weekend! I didn't take one of my Alfa's, I choose to take my WRX. I must say, I just LOVED the rain on Saturday! I was going into 4 wheel drifts in corners, splashing through "lake Fontana" and having a great time all around. I even tried a few hand brake corners (trick learned at rally driving school). When it came time to run on Sunday, I noticed my front right tire was showing cords. Oh well, moved it to the left rear, and ran 3 timed laps. I did better than I thought I would on nearly bald and worn out street tires. Maybe next time I should try some real race tires? Maybe I should try it in the Milano??

Many thanks to all who worked so hard to make it so nice for all of us. Hats off to the entire crew! Many many thanks.

Bill Carson
VP of AROSC

Fontana TT

And I was so mad because it was going to rain. That was the best part of the weekend!!! I can only remember having so much fun during the AROSC driving school when I had my turn in the wet pad at the Streets of Willow, only this time the fun was multiplied by a factor of 100!
The next day was dry and the competition became real, with some serious speed there.
My hat off to not only Dennis, but every and each one of the AROSC people that worked hard to make this event one to remember for a very long time.
What a blast!

Here's a video of one lap

Yep, lots of fun; although I changed to my race rubber during Saturday lunch break because it looked like it was drying up. Naturally, it then proceeded to POUR. Just for the heck of it, I went out on my V710s in the rain and well, you know those airboats they run in the Everglades?

By Sunday it was beautiful and I was lucky enough to come home with a class P first place plate!

Pat.

You know, I'm not sure... I suppose about 50 or so. Congrats on winning your class!
