These (with the use of longer carb mount studs) go between the carbs and rubber mounts, or with some more work between the rubber mounts and the manifold - depending. You can use o-rings or copper silicone sealer for sealing; I have used both.
You will also need to add small aluminum spacers to extend the throttle linkage bracket and carb support rod to account for the extra distance of the carbs from the engine.
A little work is involved - or you could buy new cams for $500 to get a similar 9hp gain.
