2005 AROSC Track Schedule Update

Our dates have firmed up a bit. We now have TT's and Races as follows:

Jan 8 & 9, Big Willow, TT & race (Flyers have been mailed)
May 28 & 29, Buttonwillow, TT, race & ENDURO
Oct 22 & 23, Big Willow, TT & Race
Nov 5 & 6 (tentative), Spring Mt (Parhump), TT & race

Because Laguna Seca is currently unavailable this year, except for a few week days, we are also looking into hosting a TT at the Fontana (California Speedway) parking lot some time in March.

Driving Schools (Street Performance, TT and Race) are still:

Feb 5 & 6, Streets of Willow
Sep 3 & 4, Streets of Willow

Are these track events Alfa only?

Bruce,

I'm trying to put a built 2.0liter in my 69GTV and to sort out the brakes. I would like to register early however If I don't finnish the Alfa in time can I run my other non-alfa cars?

There is no problem changing cars at the last minute. The car will need pass tech inspection and you will need to have the information required for non-alfa classification (see the registration form). Just tell Terry Watson what you're doing when you sign in at the track so he can change the database.

The big track is extremely expensive to rent. Even the little infield track is expensive. In fact, the infield track cost’s almost as much as Laguna Seca. I know that sounds incredible, but it's true! At any rate, we've held two events at the infield track in recent years and both lost a great deal of money. Granted, we're not in the business of making money, but events have to pay for themselves if we expect to continue.

El Toro

Bruce,

Has anybody looked at or considered El Toro airport (the old marine base)?

I have seen car shows there and slalom events.

No chance at El Toro due to environmental litigation problems. I'm told that Norton might be a potential site and we are looking into it.

Bruce, is there any way that we can schedule some races during the summer months of June-August next year?

Fabrizio,

We'd love to. All we need is a track with an open weekend that's within driving distance and not in the desert.
