Loose mirror

The last time I time-trialed my 1750 GTV at Willow Springs it was a pretty hot day. At about 80-90 mph the Vitaloni Baby Tornado mirror on the driver's side door would fold back. Back at home under more normal temps it would not hold its position even at 60 mph.
I took the mirror off the car and disassembled the mount and "boot" exposing the metal ball in the plastic socket. I sprayed some CRC Brake Quiet onto some paper and using a small modelers brush painted the metal ball, moved it around its range, painted again and let it dry.
Reassembled and remounted the movement is very firm and stays put at high speeds. Haven't been on the track again. Haven't had high temps again but so far (3 weeks) seems like a good fix. Time and weather will tell.

I used Locktite Blue on the ball.

That might be even better. If this fix fails I'll try that.
