Italspeed Open House/AROSC Meeting - Nov. 14th - Los Angeles
From the October AROSC newsletter:
November Meeting: Saturday - 14th, 1PM
Elections, White Turkey Sale, and Tour of Dirk Stoehr’s Collection
Here Ye, Here Ye: ELECTIONS!!! As said many times before, attendance at this meeting is the surest way to avoid being nominated from the floor and elected to the Board of Directors. You do not have to be present to be elected, but if elected “you will serve”. Actually the BoD is not a bad job. You get to have dinner out with some friends once a month and you get to be the volunteer selector as opposed to being the volunteer.
NOVEMBER 14th, 1PM to 4PM – The Saturday that could change your life. (not just because of the snacks and beverages) We will have a General Meeting at Italspeed: 3101 S Main St. (the intersection of S. Main and 31st St., 90007, in downtown Los Angeles, the new home of Dirk Stoehr’s eclectic collection of Alfa Romeos and etceterini. This location is about 5 blocks east of the Harbor Fwy (I-110) between Jefferson and Adams, or about 3/4 mile south of the Santa Monica Fwy (I-10). This is one of the friendliest venues we attend. Don’t believe me, just checkout all the prior kudos on the AlfaBB. Dirk is an outstanding and generous host with an automobile and memorabilia collection as outgoing as his personality.
There is ample street parking in the area.
In addition to browsing Dirk’s collection, the other reason for attending this meeting is the Annual White Turkey sale/auction. Clean out the garage. This is an opportunity to load or unload your garage of stuff you reeeaaallly need. If Charlie Schwartz shows up to act as auctioneer, with a dash of wit and wisdom, everything will sell.

I thought it was in the evening, not the afternoon. My wife scheduled our 6-year-old's birthday party for the same time.
I'll be there in spirit !!!

Club Elections ballot deadline
Remember, AROSC members are also voting for our 2010 Board of Directors. You should have gotten an email from Phyllis (AroscEditor@aol.com) on Nov 3.
Bring it to Dirk's on Saturday (tomorrow).
We will have blank ballots there if you can' find / never got, the email.
If you mailed it, I will check my US mail on Sat before I leave for Dirk's.
Some of you have cut and pasted your ballot (we sent out a .pdf) into an email and sent that to me. That's OK also. (sidewaysalfa@msn.com)
See you there.
For details on how we conduct our elections and the selection of Board positions just Google "chicago election fraud". (AROSC - we only steal from the best)

Everyone is invited!! The plan is to eat tacos and watch this guy hospitalize yet another victim. See you there Dirk

White Turkey Auction
The Auction is fun only if we/you bring some interesting items to auction off.
I am bringing 1 odd 13" BWA Fiat/Alfetta wheel, and that set of SPICA velocity stacks I bought last year.
We attempt to sell everything that is brought in. Bent valves were sold as "potential artwork". The club keeps a little of the selling price.
Don't have to be a club member to participate. Only a little crazy.
See you there.

As an added bonus and to get out the AROSC vote, Ive asked my close associate and buffer, Sr. Straski Suavetini to come to the warehouse and spin some tunes. Expect Dino, Sinatra, and Mexican Elvis. Should be a cool hang. See you there Dirk

I had a good time. It was nice to see Dirk's new museum. It was nice to chit-chat with nice people. I even bought something I didn't need.

Dirk, thank you for your grand hospitality and for making Saturday afternoon such a memorable experience. The 13-inch BWA wheel I acquired at auction will soon grace my backyard Zen garden - hopefully, a harmonious blend of the mechanical and the organic ('Rosemarinus officinalus'). Cheers, Stuart

Hi guys !
Thanks to all of you who came out on a Saturday afternoon and made this such a fun event. I had my doubts as to how many would actually make the trek. However, some people even came from as far away as OC and the high desert. My daughter Angel and her friend Margaux had a blast trying to get everone plowed enough to bid even more generously at the auction. I think they were successful !
Let's do something like this again soon!!
requerdos a todos,
dirk
