A "fun" video I made of that weekend in 2003. It's a bit small - sorry.

Nizam's video of his timed run:

Great video - thanks for posting that. NSX was faster, but your 75 sounded way better!

Back in the day

A long, long time ago we used to sell out that event. I remember doing late Tech Inspection for over 80 cars. Laguna was our money maker for the year so that we could afford to go to someplace like Phoenix Raceway.
Those were the days . . .

Getting participants shouldn't be a problem, especially since AROSC prices are amongst the lowest.

Track rental $35K/2 day weekday
To break even you would need to charge $350/driver assuming 100 drivers

A few car clubs charge $350 or more PER DAY and they sell out!!

If you offer $275/day entry fee and $380-390/2 days, then I don't see a problem for this event to sell out. You may not even need 100 cars

I'm in for sure.

Remember that there is a 92 db sound limit at Laguna. The meter is between turn 5 @ 6 going up the hill on the right size, at lest the last time we were there. I do not know if my GTV could meet that level. They give you three tries to be below 92 db and then your out. a long way to go to sit and watch others have all the fun. Also it is not only the exhaust but the induction that make noses.

We ran there not long ago with some high powered stuff. It was very amusing to see one of those cars catching up quickly, only to practically have to idle up the hill past the sound booth while my foot was buried in the carpet of the Alfa.
