Finally sent registration in, gradually getting all the bits back together....
Looking forward to this event! It'll be fun to see the old friends and make new ones.

Looks like I'll have new shoes in time for this event, however some surgery may be required. If all goes as planned I should be there.

We'll be going up Friday but likely getting there late. Is the track open (for camping) late, or how does that work (non-hookup)?
Thanks,
Judy

Great, thanks for checking! Going out to get all replacement fluids (got fuel cell back together and car going again last night/this morning) and exhaust checked today.
Crunch time! Found a complete extra set of wheels/tires - all in various states of use,
so - I'll never forget the time .. who was it ... Fabio somebody was going around Willow with 4 different kinds of tires on and he still smoked lots of us.
Not saying I'll be able to do that, of course, but I can dream!
I have to admit, getting a speeding ticket a month+ ago is what really lit the fire.....

SD to BW in four hours on a Friday afternoon sounds optimistic to me no matter which route you take.

you can do it if you dont take the 5 through LA. it might be a little delay near carlsbad and santa monica on the 405.
i would leave at 10 so u dont get hung up with traffic.

I was in the most godawful jam of my life on northbound 405 on a Friday afternoon. Just saying...
I hear I-15 is a 100-mile parking lot nowadays too getting out of SD; ah the days of US 395 in the 70s.

SO do any sneakways through LA even exist? I remember taking some of the smaller N/S freeways years back (57) - but not sure they're clogged up by now. Toll roads any better?

Your right its 4 hours if there is no traffic. I am expecting to make 2 fuel stops along the way so 5 hrs is still probably conservative maybe i will leave at 11:00 instead of 12:00. Although I have driven through LA at rush hour and it really was not that bad oh yea that was 15 years ago!

In good traffic I have driven 20 miles in an hour and a half through there. Ok, ok! That was in bad traffic, but my point is....
Your best bet is to take the 405, some good CD's and a few bottles of water. Relax and ignore the idiots. You'll get there when you get there and not a bumper width sooner. SD to BW in five hours sounds do-able actually.
