SSZ at Willow.

Yeah....I recall being the one driving the SSZ when the right rear axle broke in turn 6. Hard to forget.... That car is REALLY fast! Could probably do low 1:30s at Willow. At least it didn't break in turn 8 or 9.

Also, Alan Lambert is signed up w/ his GTV6. I think he's racing.

It's still a pathetic Alfa turnout for the enduro. You guys should be embarrassed.

What a great weekend. There were tons of cars out there and perfect weather. Thank you to everyone who put on another great event.

It was a blast driving the GTA around Buttonwillow. I think with a set of good race tires, that car will really move.

The GT Jr. put out another great performance.....gas n' go all weekend.

Congratulations to Rick Clemente for breaking the Class A track record I set a few years ago in time trials. I am gonna need to enter my race car in time trial next year to get it back!

It was great to have all of Charlie's buddies with us all weekend (Rick, Gene, Craig, Hector, and Chuck)...you guys made the weekend that much more special.

Here are a few pictures I had emailed to me this morning:

I wanted so much to be there but my vehicle is not nearly ready. I am thrilled such a good time was had by all.

Anybodyelse got pictures? I hate seeing Alfas basking in garages. Sorry, Anthony. What about the enduro? Has anyone REALLY checked out Pierre's SSZ? That car has American LeMans Series history, you know, and two SCCA National Championships! And it's pink!

What a great weekend!! I had a blast in my Verde out there. I was sure the brakes were going to fade on me but they were absolutely perfect the whole weekend. It was my first time trial and I was more than pleased with my weekend. Alfa club will be seeing alot more of me in the future!

This was one of the best weekends we've had. The weather was really nice on Sunday. The event was exceptional. Lots of cars, lots of nice people.
I didn't win anything but still want to show my pride and joy. The car ran great all weekend. Anthony said his car was gas n' go all weekend. Mine ran out of gas at the start/finish stretch on sat!! Then the rest was all driver related. It was fun to hang out with the fast group, at least until I went off, 3 times!
This picture was taken before all the dirt covered the car inside and out. It still managed to survive without any major injuries. What a blast!

I have pictures of various Alfa coming out of the esses, I definitely have one of your car, Jorge. I'll post them tonight when I get home.

I too had a tremendous weekend, my neck and shoulders are still sore from battling my helmet . I was lucky enough to get my third class "P" win in a row in my Miata.

Thanks to everybody for such a great time. It was fantastic to see so many entries!

Pat.

This was my first TT after two street schools (maroon 74 GTV, #46, plowed the furrow just west of the pit wall in Saturday's last session), and it was just great. I calmed down a bit on Sunday and didn't put a wheel off, getting into 2:24s, which made me happy. BW is a wonderful track, and the organization, driving, assistance, and comraderie were all excellent. Thanks to AROSC for the usual great job.

Well worth the drive down from the Bay Area. Probably it's too far from SoCal to make sense, but has AROSC considered holding a TT at Thunderhill? It's a great track too, and might draw more NorCal folks. Nothing really to hit there either.

I have 35mm slides of the event, Judy and others who might want pics. I can make prints the old-tech way once I get the slides back if I have pics of cars you're interested in. I'll post a note when I get the pics back.

Northern CA

I second the Thunderhill motion. We have had discussions about both Sears Point and Thunderhill at the annual Time Trial Board Meeting, but we were a little gunshy, after cancelling Las Vegas last year for lack of entries. We just couldn't afford to take another big loss and gamble on Thunderhill. Sears Point is very difficult to get, however Dennis Fibrow (AROSC Race Director) and I spent an afternoon out there investigating. If we keep having successful events like Buttonwillow, then new tracks become more do-able. I'm also in the bay area. I can think of at least 10 bay area people who were at Buttonwillow this weekend, and those were all Alfa drivers.

Annbody besides me going to the Wine Country Classic Vintage Car Races at Sears Point next weekend?

I've driven a couple schools and at least 10 fast ARA "lunchtime tours" during CSRG races at Sears over the past 15 years, and I'd have to think long and hard about driving Sears in its current configuration. There are walls around so much of the track now, it seems like driving in a tunnel, plus that makes a lot of things to hit. The convenience factor is definitely high considering its proximity to the Bay Area, so you'd get those folks, plus the Sacramento, North Valley, and Sierras crowd. But the track scares me now (still smarting from off-track BW excursions).
