Looking for an Alfa shop in/around Long Beach

Hey Boys and Girls,
Just bought an '88 Graduate and want to find a reputable, local Alfa guy. I live in Long Beach and don't have the time to go see Santo's. Can anyone help with this?

Alfa shop in Long Beach

Thanks for the info. I called them on Friday and the guy didn't seem to know much about springs and shocks. Are they engine specialists only? Do you know how reliable they are?
Thanks,
Brian

Long Beach California

Over the years Alfa West has replaced many springs, shocks, engines, trans, diffs, nuts, bolts, etc for me. Now they use just one service bay so your in/out time could be longer than it once was.

The job is done!

Went to start up the car yesterday and plenty of spark and gas (or so it seemed) but it wouldn't start. AAA towed it up to Alfa West and what a nice guy (miserable about still having to go to work everyday but knows Alfas too well to quit). He is proud of his work though; Corroded wires, shocks and springs (front only) for $330 . I picked up the car today and WE'RE back in business! It was done quickly but I think I paid for that. Thanks for the help.

I had my 64 Sprint GT engine rebuilt at Alfa West 15-20 years ago. Guy's name was Mauricio. Is he still running the shop? When I've gone by it looks like they are working on all kinds of cars. Still primarily an Alfa garage?
Thanks
Pete

Funny thing. . .

I never got his name but Mauricio fits him well. Old Italion guy who used to work for Alfa Factory. He runs the shop with his kid (I never met him). The guys next door run 2 bays for repairs and they've got cars everywhere. Alfa West still does, or at least the impression I got, Alfa work only.

Hey there,

I'm also in Long Beach. I go to Omega Motorsports in Culver City. It's a little treck but very well worth it. Uwe is the only one who works on my Alfas.

I had planned to go there.

Never could find the time to get up there and when the car wouldn't start on Monday I had to tow it locally (AAA for free). The quote I got from Omega for the same springs/shocks was $130. A lot less than the $250 I spent at Alfa West. I just finished putting new Exip 15x7 wheels and Toyo 205/60/15 V rated tires and it's like driving an Indy car (a slow Indy car). Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, Uwe is serious and reliable. Honestly, I don't go anywhere else. I have no reasons to.

Hey I'm 2nd and Redondo if you ever come by here.

Yo Nick, I tagged your Milano while rompin around in my GTV one night. I left some corny note like, "Nice Alfa! Check out AlfaBB.com. 67GTV"

My regular route involves going through Belmont Shores (two Berlinas in Naples - no notes left, yet), Marina Drive with its tight right hander and scary bridge construction (can take air at the end of it), up Main to PCH to 2nd, hopefully haulin *** over the Marina bridge, through Belmont to Ocean to Shoreline to the 710 North, off on PCH West, right back onto 710 South, tear through Shoreline (previously scoped for cops), then finally make my way back home. Occasionally, I go out for a jaunt around Portugese Bend, some dancin with the 405 onramps and offramps, or merely a romp on Loynes Drive a few times. All in search of those elusive turns and twisties that I've heard so much about. Anyone feel sorry for us city dwelling Alfisti?

Great idea! I'm in.

Who knows, could be the beginning of the LBC chapter of AROSC.

When/where? Haha

Check out Hill Rd. (or is it St.) in Signal Hill. You'll have to add that to your daily commute. It's worth the trip for the view alone, never mind the downhill curves.
