Maybe because other clubs have not asked for a regional section?
All club activities are 99% local activities. Maybe if the National body would like to organise a "Australia" section we could have a national section.
Better yet, why don't YOU organise a national section?
Thanks for your feedback.

Well, the arocasa site ( www.alfaclubsa.org.au) should work, only the Forum section of the site points to these Forums now.

What makes South Australians so special they get their own section ? Were the moderators threatened with the prospect of being forced to eat a pie floater or spend a weekend in Adelaide if they didn't comply???

Nice Welcome - NOT!!!
Well we were delighted to see our beleagured forum re-incarnated onto the popular and ever charismatic Alfa BB. However as with any public forum there are those that have nothing better to do than winge and complain.... So for those that are asking lots of questions like spoilt 3 year olds...we decided to move our forum onto here and the webmaster has kindly obliged. See our local forum was very quiet...much like Adelaide and we thought that it might be nice for our members to be directed to an international forum to learn more about the marque!! Isn't that what this place is all about???
So there you have it in a nutshell..I can only assume those that are slinging off are frustrated that they didn't think about this first....so get over it and welcome the interesting additions to this family of Alfa Lovers. If you don't like it don't visit our local forum..you have the choice.
For those of you who have something constructive to say about this "change" god forbid. Thanks for your comments and your warm welcome.
I love my Alfa and love this place and as I am writing under my husbands log on I don't want any of you to crack up at him. If you have any comments please direct them to Alfanut(_79) and I will gladly discuss this topic.
BTW a huge thanks to Horst..and also the moderator and people who make this forum so great.
Many thanks,
Julia SA Adelaide!

Just a note..I can only assume that you are one of the people who are annoyed....don't waste your time asking questions like this...rather, how do we get a local section? People might warm to you a bit better. "Manners are everything even in cyberspace"!

Having been to Adelaide I am sure they want to keep it free of the convict taint, I know how much they love dropping that little gem into the conversation at any point. That's probably why they have their own section.

I appolagise for my directness, but im after some very rare parts from australia for my 84 Spider, and it would be great to have an australia only section, where we can all help eachother out with parts and meets etc! Im not saying SA dont deserve their own section, but rather it would have been better, imo, to have a all australia section within the forums!

OK, here's the thing. I used to run a local SA forum. Most of our members seemed to use the AlfaBB more but I thought it might still be nice to have a section so they can discuss local issues even though it wasn't worth running our own Forums. (That's right, I wa trying to be nice).
Now, there is nothing stopping anyone asking for their own section. The moderators of the AlfaBB seemed very friendly. Ideally what would be nice is to have an Australia section with each division having a subsection as well. However that may be too much overhead for the moderators of these Forums.
As I have run my own Forums before, I know how much hassle it can be specially with all the spammers around.
Other australian clubs also run their own forums (eg Victoria), so there are options for interacting with other clubs. All clubs have email addresses which can also be used to communicate with them.
I dont make decisions for the entire Alfa community in the world and I can't get every single persons opinion on what should be done. My driver was purely to look after the S.A. Club members.
As for S.A. vs other states, that's not really Alfa Romeo related. I'm sure there are plenty of other forums that specialise in that topic. ;-)
Thanks for listening.
Cheers!

Well, since it looks like members from most other states read this section, why not try asking for what you are looking for. Won't cost you anything. ;-) I'm sure our SA members will certainly help if they can.
Cheers.

Thanks for the effort monaro. Shame about the name though. By the way, took the video/dvd back today. Retrovision couldnt have been any more difficult to deal with if they tried.
AusAlfa, try turin imports in adelaide for bits.
