Milano made it home
My '87 Milano made it in from Las Vegas on Wednesday. She is drivable but needs some sorting out. Hopefully get the Texas VI-30A done and title transferred this week. 50/50 chance she'll be with me in Austin on Saturday! I call her Zarda. Pictures from my cell phone.

Another step toward toward the open road
One more step toward another Milano running around Central TX. Zarda passed her state inspection today. Here she is wearing her badge of honor. Next step, off to the tax office for a title transfer! This weekend's agenda: new headliner fabric and a new clutch. I think I'll tackle the headliner first. Although lots of greasy handprints on the fabric might add character.... just kidding. This may be Waco, but I do have soap. As part of the clutch job, I'll pull the drive shaft out and inspect (something not right here, I suspect flex joint or center bearing trouble).

It's an Alfa
Just found about 3/8 inch of play in the left outer tie rod end. Worst I have ever seen and still have it connected. And yet she still drove like a slot car!
My wife came home and saw this scene and said, "yep, it's true, it's an Alfa!" But later on she admitted she thinks a car on jacks means progress is being made. I sure hope so.

New Headliner
Flippin' Sweet!
The colors in the picture are... discolored, I guess by the flash. It really is the correct "taupe" color. I'll try to replace it later with a pic taken in the daylight, if I can ever get home from work while there is daylight.
It takes 3.5 hands and 4 Ibuprofens to put one of these in but it's worth it!
The dang rear view mirror is the b and a half to get back in. Be sure to put a very small shot of WD-40 on the pins and you can get it back in without breaking your windshield.
Also got the new tie rod end installed. Hoping to get her to the meeting at Mozart's on Saturday!

Sunday Morning
I wish I'd have had a chance to put this wax job on before the coffee meeting on Saturday. She polished out just stunning! I have to avert my eyes in strong sunlight! The DPS will be able to see me for miles. Which is a problem because the speedo gave it up on the way home from Austin yesterday.

I saw the pictures from the meet. I'm sorry I didn't show but it was raining pretty hard here off and on from 6am - 10am. I figured the meet was a no-go. Should have listened to my wife and shown up anyway. At least I got an inspection sticker this weekend.

My wife has been complaining since I got the Milano, I have not driven my 300ZX at all, and I should sell it. So I drove the 300ZX yesterday and today.... and ... anyone want to buy a 300ZX? It is not as fast and does not handle as well as the Milano. I mean, it's just great for a Z car. It's just that the Milano KICKS ITS ***, that's all. Whodathunkit? Smaller car, bigger engine, beaten by a sedan. Its gotta be like a dude getting beat by a girl!
