I'm planning the next Berlina Register tour for Sunday, Oct. 18. This one will be more social, less driving. We'll convene mid-afternoon in the Berkeley area, have a short (one hour) drive, then come back to my house in Berkeley for pizza, beer, and Kodachrome slides from the 50s-80s of sports cars, early vintage races, F1 at Long Beach (hosted by me and Craig Morningstar), and any gearhead videos people want to bring (Rendezvous, etc.)

This date look good?
Andrew
Just a thought that you might consider having the tour coinciding with the Alameda show on October 11th, so that any of us in So Cal considering the tour could catch both events.

Reason: Added in the date of the Alameda show.
Good idea, but I don't think it works to have two competing events on one day. Plus I have two other events on 10/11 besides Alameda, so it just isn't possible.
Hey Andrew, just want to let you know that in addition to AID on 10/11, we will be having the week before AID annual tour on 10/3 as well.
Cheers.
PS - I second taking a whole week off!

I just wish I could afford to...

Final details on the start (haven't figured out the route yet). This will be coming out in the Cams too.
Join the Berlina Register on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, for a short tour in the East Bay hills then pizza, beer, and vintage racing slides at Andrew Watry's house (1284 Monterey Ave., Berkeley; (510) 684-2350). Any interesting two- or four-wheeled vehicle welcome (Alfa sedans of course get preferential treatment).
Meet at 1:30 pm in the parking lot of Hs Lordship's restaurant (199 Seawall Dr., Berkeley; go all the way west on University Ave. from I-80; at the pier turn left (south) to Hs Lordship's parking lot at the end). We'll depart at 2:00 pm, end up back at my house for mutual auto admiration, eat a little pizza, drink a little beer, and watch slides and videos once it gets dark. Bring slides, gearhead videos and DVDs.
Friendly bump/last reminder for anyone interested: Berlina Register Tour Plus Pizza, Beer, Slides

Thanks Luigi; you must be one smooth driver with your daughter sleeping there in the front seat. We were behind Sunday drivers pretty much the whole way.
My couple of pics, from the start. Thanks all.
I'll post a list of which cars and folks attended tomorrow once I compile.
Andrew
Here's a handful of pics from the starting point. Click on the photo below for more. (Ending with one video inadvertently set to B&W -- someone is welcome is to apply "old scratched up filmreel" effect to it!)

A good showing of sedans (11 including the 2002s) even if I didn't bring one myself. Thanks to Chris for making the pizza run; I'd never been in a Beta before and was impressed. Slides and videos didn't happen, as everyone ran out of steam before we moved indoors. Good time all around. Thanks all.
