Saw a red spider parked on Broadway in Revere, MA this afternoon. The top was down and the driver seemed to be relaxing. Ahh, it's nice that spring has finally sprung.

I went on vacation last week to San Diego and sure enough the first car I see while pulling out of the airport was a blue Milano gold!! Now if only I could run into a few more around here.

Whose silver 164 base did I see today in Raymond, ME? It was parked at a repair shop on US rte 302.

That would be mine. I'm having the brakes done to give to my girl for her daily Sebago to Portland commute. It may be for sale though, she likes the black 5 speed I just got from ebay !! I live on the other side of Sebago lake, stop by and visit my field of Alfas !!!

The " Save the Rusty Alfa Society"
43 Alfas at the moment [ I think], I'll be able to tell better when the snow melts

Sunday I stopped in my Spider at the local Quick "E" Mart in Bellingham, MA and pull up next to a White 86 Graduate Spider. Talked to the owner a bit. He bought his car as a leftover in 87. He was more into Harleys than Alfas and asked me if I had a bike. I think the T shirt I was wearing gave him the impression I had a Harley. (Old Harley orange shirt with Harley like logo that said Replacement Auto Parts.) I told him I had no bike. (The shirt was part of a trade show I was involved with that gave away a new Harley Fat Boy.) I left him happly scratching scratch tickets.

Same day I saw a 164 parked at a Garage in Burriville, RI. (Begining of Route 96.) I drove around the Blue car and it was "plastered" with AONE stickers and an Orange sticker about Racing Alfas. RI vanity plate that reminded me of a curtain Ex-Mayor in Providence now living in New Jersey courtesy of the Fed's.

Hey modena! Has your red Dino been seen around Arlington MA? there used to be one that would show its beautiful lines around here. In any case, I have a used distributor from my old 68 2.0 coupe if you need a spare. You should bring the spider to italian car Day at Larz Andersen, you'd be sure to win a plaque.

Hey Vern,

Not recently. I bought my car in June of '03 from Mike Sassaman who used to live in Franklin, MA and worked at Fort Devens. So it's possible that it is the one you've seen. I do know that there is a Dino in Worcester--not sure of the color though. I haven't been to Larz Anderson since the great washout of '03. I had the nerve to show up in a Chevy, since the 164 decided to burst it's heater coil that weekend. That was about three weeks before I bought my Dino, and since then, there have been too many conflicts on that particular day--soccer games, etc. Conflicts not withstanding, I'll be there next year! Perhaps we'll run into each other at an Alfa event this summer. I'll PM you before hand to let you know about the distributor.

Well, Well, Well. As I was driving to Bodinos Pizza in Milford, MA. I spotted the above 164 with a For Sale sign on it on Farm St. Blackstone, MA. No one home to ask about it. Odometer said 132239. 1991 Base model. Bubbling on right rear fender. Velore interior that looked OK. No Sunroof. Wheel covers looked a little bit beat. Sign said 1000 Bucks but I would go lower. Anyone interested phone number 401-568-3068 or Pager number 401-763-3068. Not my cup of tea.

Hey man,

I saw you, too! Nice 164, great shape! In the old days, Alfa owners were afraid to flash their lights at one another--usually blew a fuse of some sort. Or was that the owners of British cars?? Er-having owned both, I think it applies equally.

Lets not even get into the 164 electrical quirks. Just the other day, my entire instrument panel flickered all of its lights simultaniously for no good cause. This car was garaged all of 2004 untill i bought it now. Looks like a few chipmunks went to town in it. I keep finding shells and droppings under random panels hehe. No biggie. Just hope they didnt chew through my wires.
