Alfas in Central America?

Excuse my ignorance, I guess Alfas are still imported to Central and South America? While surfing, I noticed that in the San Diego club, there are photos of some club members in Central America, and there they are, plain as day, new Alfas. A spider and a really nice GTV. How can Alfa justify committing to Central America and not supply North America? I just don't get it. The general.
