Southern California Mechanic
Hello. I'm looking seriously into getting an Alfa (Spider) as a project car and have heard that its best to have a good mechanic nearby "just in case". I am decently mechanical, but obviously there are times to let the pros have at it. I also will be needing someone to take a look at whatever car i decide to get. I live in South Orange County, CA and am wondering if anyone knows of a good one?

There are many good ones all over LA. But, I like 'Santo's Italian Car Service' in Northridge. They just did my transmission and I am very happy with it. I drive from Palm Desert to have them do the work. They have a good reputation.

Others on the board will have their own favorite as well.

Just so you know, it is a 6 hour round trip for me. That is the kind of recommendation I just gave.

Yup.
Just walking in this place will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. Race cars, mint factory restores, roadable jalopies, rust buckets, they are all there and looking for help from Santo and his crew.

You might also reach out to Brian at Motoring Investments: 619-238-1977 if you need to stay local.
No connection, etc.

Does Brian provide service? I thought he was a dealer. Besides if one were to go all the way to San Diego there is no one better than Dan at Foreign Auto Menders in Poway.
