I do love this quote from the article regarding BMW:

I really hope Alfa fixes the issues with quality, from relatives overseas and especially people I know in England they say the dealer network is rubbish.

Alfa has a terrible record of providing service and parts here in the US. What makes anyone think it will change? To build the proper network needed would take billions, and Alfa, nor the parent company FIAT can afford it.

They do not intend to make that mistake again!!!!!
If they can't well they can't end of story. But who says they can't? BMW was as terrible or worse than Alfa as manufacturer. They changed things around along with AUDI. Who says alfa can't? Partnering up will save, there are plenty of ways to make it happen.

Gentleman.. I can understand poor service,God knows every new ALFA/FIAT owner experiences it in Europe and South Africa,but poor quality original parts is unforgivable.

Also, implying that their record will never change is absurd. Fiat, Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa and Lancia have all changed dramatically over the last 10 years and especially over the last 5. It is a mistake to assume that because it was one way a long time ago, it will be exactly the same again.

I havent owned an Alfa in 2 years, but I still come back here every so often to look at cars for sale. Since the time when I first road an Alfa in '95, there has been talk of them coming back to the US. I remember hearing 2000, then 2002, then 04, 08.... I even remember when fake "Autodelta" was importing them and all of the cars were confiscated, or shipped out of the country.
The day I believe that Alfa Romeo is coming back to the USA is the day that I seem them on this dirt being sold as legal vehicles.
(I cant wait to hear why they wont make the trip over this time...)

in a few months you can go down to your local masarati dealer and look at the 8c....
I think it has to go pretty wrong if they are not comming back to us this time, but ok they will only come if they think they can make money, its as simple as that.
The new MiTo is made to be abe to comply to US crash tests and that should be an indication that maby its a bit more than just talk this time.
