Thanks for thinking of us Alfisiti so far away. Photos of our Alfa's hometown sounds great. How about some photos of the surrounding area and town as well?

All I have seen of the factory and town is from books. A nice treat was from this BB pointing to an online autobiography of the Alfa Romeo Archivist Elvira Ruocco:
AlfaSport Club

Well, I visited Italy in 1975 and enjoyed it a great deal. My wife and I want to visit again soon.

Once again, welcome to the bb.

Hi Spider!

This a normal picture that we can find on internet, is a picture of outside of actual AR factory (Technical center).

Like you know, today this famous site working only with 3 area, one is about Project design (exterior), one is about power engine design project, and last one is about Historical AR Museum

This is because at the end of 2005 Fiat Group (new owner from 1986) have moved all the AR factories assembling in other italian and european site.

this was a sad period for citizens of Milano because we have lost a piece of our history and why the mark AR was taken by Fiat, commercial rival also if historic rival was been always FERRARI - (do you know that Enzo Ferrari was Alfa Romeo engineer ?)

The new good news for US AR fun is that MR Marchionne (CEO of Fiat GROUP) have announced last months that Alfa Romeo Brand will follow a new target... a new market in USA... i hope will meet a strong success. Fiat today are very good group, i know in the past was not see good from usa citizen, but i can confirm that today is very important group, anyway AR group work in a separate way from FIAT (don't forget that also Ferrari Brand is inside of Fiat Group)

Arese is a little town near Milano, today is more a quarter of Milano then a single town, but is a very nice place, tipical italian residential place (also very expensive place).

I hope you will enjoy a new visit in italy next time, are very changed from 1975, I will very happy to send you all information you need to make the best visit.

I hope to update new pictures soon

thanks all

Alberto

ps

sory for my bad english

When i think about this car i remember 2 important things

1) the magic moment when i was a little child (was the car of my grand father...)

2) all the big italian police movie of 70 years (i see all)

this is a little example of what i talking about....

LOOKS WHAT CAN DO THIS GREAT CAR...

ps

the actor at end of this clip say " i told you that we was too heavy for this car... "

I have a big smile on my face. That was very enjoyable. Thank's Nobile.

Ha ha ha ha. Why didn't they keep the little green Giulia they drove down the stairs with? We all know that Giulias are the ones you need when you jump a river! That dumb old Citroen collapsed on its roof flat as a pancake.

Just to remind you guy that that Citroën (DS 19) had a plastic roof and in such situation (belts or not) no one would have walked out of the car (in real life situation). That Citroën (DS19) was a VERY dangerous car in any kind of accident !
