Tires for a '69 Spider

I'm aware how often these questions come up but I would appreciate any comments - especially about pros/cons regarding Pirelli tires.

I'm close to finishing up the restoration on a client's '69 Spider. Client would love to stick with Pirelli's. He currently has 20 year old 195 60 14 P6's on his 6" wide 5-stars. There is still plenty of tread left. He also has lowered springs on it.

I would say in order of importance is Pirelli (or at least European), quiet running, look (appropriate to a Round-Tail), and cost. This car will be a sunny Sunday husband/wife driver. Owners live in the CA Bay area.

Is anyone using one of the 185 65 14 P6's? Tire Rack lists both an 86H and an 86T.

If you are running either of them I'd like your opinion and whether you're using the 86H or 86T.

I would also be interested in any other European tire which is quiet running and is roughly the same size. I was originally looking for 195 65 14's. I will not go to a 205.

I'm sure he'd be happy staying under $70 per tire, but if one brand/'model' tire - fitting this description - really stands out, I'd imagine he'd go 'somewhat' over a $100 per.
