I'd suggest picking up one or more books on the subject. Keith Martin's Collecting Alfa Romeo is a good place to start.

I have an extra copy of Keith's book, it's even signed by the author!! I'll let you have it for $10 (US) which I believe is 1/2 price - You pay the postage from Seattle to Vanc Island, unless you think you'll be down this way soon.
