Unhappy I need advice and help pleeeease

Hello, I just joined the forum and hopefully I will be a spider owner soon. I just won an auction on ebay on a 84 spider, I'm sure you will find it if you are interested in looking. I live in louisiana and the car is in new york. After winning the auction the owner sent me a message that she is out of the country with a family illness and that her close friend Jackie will be handling the deal. I contacted Jackie, which was very nice, and I told her what needed to happen with the paper work and in shipping the car. Jackie told me the car hadn't been started in over a month so I asked her to at lease besure it runs and to no surprise she tells me the battery is dead and won't be able to try jumping it off untill saturday (today) and will let me know today how it worked out. I have not heard from her today, I tried to call and left a message and nothing. I just sent an email to both Jackie and the owner of the car to find out more information on the situation. I have already paid for the car with paypal $1575. I am plenty happy with the price I got the car for....as long as I get it. I am even willing to just buy it not running and fixing it myself I was actualy surprised that shipping a non operational car wasn't to to much more than one running. What should I do? any on have any pull in NY which could help? Who would you recommned as a shipping company? got many quotes most close except DAS which was twice as much as anyone else because he would only ship the car in an eclosed trailer.

Other than the bad experience that we had with a regular open transport company with our 2600, which cost $800, plus the damage and repair headaches, we either moved cars ourselves with a trailer and Suburban, rented a truck and put cars in the truck and towed one behind, or we used Mayflower Van Lines from Michigan to California. At that time it cost us about $350 to get the non-running Berlina out here. It's been a while plus we were willing to wait for a deadhead run, so the price was a little cheaper than being date sensitive.
