Jerry your drawing reminds me of a tow incident. Our new 164 had 7,000 miles and I drove from home to meet my sister-in-law and her daughter Jessica and their cousin Elizabeth at Sam's Original Restaurant in Fairfield Texas. Plan was to meet at this halfway point and lunch and pick up girls. But about 30 miles out, the accessory belt squealed and smoked as the water pump locked up. Factory defect I guess.

I got ride to Fairfield? We ate lunch at Sam's. They've got a great buffet and bar-b-q and burgers and humongous pies in lots of flavors. My sister-in-law drove us down and met the truck to be towed to the closest Alfa dealer in to Houston. So the girls, about 9 years of age, got in, next to the driver and I sat by the door. And we began to drive. The driver of course pulled out a chaw and after a while did what chewers do. Tabaccy Spit into a Styrofoam coffee cup. Elizabeth, who was right next to him turned to me with a wide eyed look of disgust and mouthed the Eeew word. I smiled and put my finger to my lips, shush.

Got a rental and drove them to our home where Elizabeth recounted the spit scene for my Wife. At the end of the week we drove back to the dealer and took the girls back to the Dallas area.

Thumbs up

Our friend, Glennco of the woods aka Heavymetal Alfa has just made my day with email purchasing his two watercolor portraits #3 ac and #4 ac.

Many of the series originals remain for sale at $80.00 which includes shipping,
12" X 16".

But,an astute Anthony Cavaliere did purchase the highly sought after and most admired piece at the Chicago convention "Benito and Adolf disagree on direction"

If anyone else has an inquiry, please send an email.

Hi folks,

I am not sure where else to post this, so I'll do it here. Yesterday, Kathleen and I returned from a very stressful, yet successful trip to St. Louis. We went there because we had to find a house as a result of Kathleen's new job, which is there. But that isn't really the story...it's about what happened when we got home.

As we arrived, having had a total of about three hours sleep the night before (early flight and late night signing papers, Kathleen was working on a work project, etc), we checked our mail and found that there was a big box from Jerry Quinlisk (and his lovely wife Nancy) sitting on our counter. Opening the box, there was a touching and creative Jerry Quinlisk original card and two packages...one marked "HIM" and one marked "HER". Inside my package were two beautiful T-Shirts, with my TROGDOR avatar on the front and (get this!!) a large hand-drawn Alfa Romeo badge on the back...only instead of saying "ALFA ROMEO", it says "ALEX ROMEO"!!! Is that WAAAAAAY cool or what!?!?!? Then, when Kathleen opened her nicely-wrapped package, she found a gorgeous glass cutting board/trivet depicting a red, '69 Alfa 1750 GT Coupe in a whimsical streetscape, as only 'J.Q.' can do!

To be honest, it brought a tear to our eyes! We only just met Jerry and Nancy at the recent AROC convention in Chicago, but they were so nice as to send us such beautiful gifts...believe me, it was a gesture which really made us feel better in the middle of lots of stress.

Jerry and Nancy - thank you SO much!! When we get to St. Louis, we'll be closer to you and we sure hope that we can see you both more often!

Congratulations, enjoy!!! Jerry and Nancy are truly great people and a very welcome addition to the Alfa community. They have so much to offer beyond Jerry's artistic abilities of capturing Alfa and Alfisti historically and in real time.

Well, Alex, are you going to chair the 2010 Maryland convention from St. Louis? And, yes, this probably doesn't belong on this thread either, but I can't see starting a new thread over it..... Unless we want to head it up, "How many times and how many assorted Alfas have you moved in the last couple of years, Alex?"

1. Yes, I will do that. Commuting is easy and I will be back and forth a lot anyway with two step-sons in college here. It is also the electronic age and many things can be accomplished by e-mail and telephone.

2. No, this is definitely not the thread in which this discussion belongs. You are welcome to start a new thread if you wish. You can even call it the "Alex Csank Bashing Thread" if you like.

3. Now, back to Jerry's wonderful artwork. I am glad that Glenn bought those two pieces! Jerry, are you buying a 'Super'?
