alfa 147 little things

I have recently bought an alfa 147 and i have encounter some little problems.

first the 3rd gear sometimes doesn't fit easily. a friend of mine suggested that it might be because the gearbox hasn't been warmed up prpperly as the car hasn't been long in operation. others say that it is because i am doing the change from 2nd to 3rd before the rpms go over 2500-3000. is it any of the above or something else?

is it nesecary not to overcome 3000-4000 rpms until i have done 3000 km ?

also one day i braked really hard and since then i hear an anoying sound coming from the brakes when i break calmly. what can i do about it? except from changing brakes?

last i hear an strange louder sound from the engine (than the usual sound ) when i start moving (from stop) and push the accelarator more and not leave the "swift pedal" enough . why does this happen ?

i hope you have some kind of answer to my questions which are of small problems but very important for me to find an answer!!

How long have you had it? I'm not a mechanic or an expert on the 147, but I bought one 3 months ago.

As far as the shifting is concerned, it's not a problem for me to shift into any gear at slow speeds. I've even shifted into 6th at less than 1000 rpm (it idles at about 800 - yours may be a different engine).

You asked, "is it nesecary not to overcome 3000-4000 rpms until i have done 3000 km ?"

The head mechanic/manager at the Alfa dealer here in Singapore told me that the car is already "broken in". I hit 6,000 and 7,000 rpm in the first 200 km of owning the car. Maybe not a good idea, but hey, who cares?

I don't think revving it that high will be an issue, but I'm not expert.

About the other problems, maybe go have the dealer look at them. It's still under warranty, isn't it?

Good luck.

i have bought the car 2 weeks ago..
it is an alfa 147 1.6 lt 120 hp

when you say broken in you mean that although it hasnt done any kms as soon as you drive it you can go it at 7000 rpms ?

and test please test on your car to poush at the same time the accelarator and the swift" pedal .. you hear any other sound from the usual from the engine?

p.s. don't push the accelarator tou hard and hear just your 250hp engine wowowwowowouuuinging .

Yes, when it had about 200km I let it go to 7000 rpm.

I'll do the test, but I don't know what you mean by "swift" pedal. Do you mean "shift" pedal, or clutch?

Your best bet is just to take it to the dealer and have them sort it out - I'm sure it's under warranty.
