car shipping

Can anyone offer any advice on shipping an alfa from the S F Bay Area to the east coast? Car isn't running but does brake and steer. DAS is looking for $1700. Would like to be assured the car will be well handled, insured etc. Thanks

I have been using http://www.m3carriers.com/

I can usually go from AZ to FL for around $725.00 Maybe add another $150-200 for non-running car.

I have used DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers) twice. Both times from California to East Coast. Open once, enclosed once. Happy both times. It was $900 something enclosed and $700 something open.

I'm guessing that was at least a year ago. Shipping charges went up pretty dramatically with last summer's gas prices. The best quote I got last summer was $750 just to go from CT to MD (a Super roller). I wound up trading a running GTV6 to a fellow Alfista for a trailor trip instead.

I have used AutoGo Auto Transport 877-668-3735 to send my '66 GTV from NJ to Akitaman in WA and it cost $1100. It was a stripped car that could steer but only had the hand brake. Picked up and delivered on time with no hitches or problems. I also shipped my serial #002 Montreal to Chicago with them too. Speak with Rick, he's a nice person to deal with. Good Luck, Peter.

Try Passport Transport, now owned by FedEx. Robert Pass is a long-time Alfisiti in St. Louis, this is the auto transport business he founded years ago.
