1935-1939 Savoia Marchetti S79
A shot of the plane after the substitution of the Piaggio engines with the more powerful Alfa Romeo 125 RC 35 engines. The various records are written on the rudder; the most important is the one obtained on the 5th of August 1935 during the flight Massaua-Cairo-Rome under the command of Mag. Biseo with Gen. Valle on board. It is interesting to notice here the military S/N 260 used for experimental machines. It is also good to notice the aerofoil struts on the tail. Other records reported on the rudder includes the speed records of 1000 and 2000 km, with various loads, obtained during the month of September
