MAGNAFLOW Exhaust Systems Have Arrived !!!
This system will fit pre-'75 105 & 115 GT's and Spiders with 1750 or 2000 engines. Another attachment is being made for those who are using aftermarket headers. The current system is made to mount to the stock exhaust manifold.
Here are a few of the specs.
- Large diameter 2.25" tubing made from Stainless Steel 409.
- Mufflers made from Stainless Steel 430.
- Front flanges made from mild steel with nickel plating.
- Slip joints connecting the front /center/rear sections.
- Three Torca style clamps.
- Comes with basic installation directions
- Magnaflow lifetime limited warranty
The systems will be $625usd (+tax for CA residents) not including shipping. If you are interested please send me an email by clicking on my user name. I have a limited amount of these so first come first serve.
I’m sure there are tons of questions but I thought Id start out with some images to start off with. I'll try to make a recording of my GTV for sound purposes.

Vary nice, but we don't need any stinking instructions.

Impressive!
What was the final horsepower gain with this over a stock set up?
Pictures of one installed? (did I miss a thread someplace)?

Looks nice!
But.... ( of course... )
1) Available w/o the rear stinger ( just straight pipe )?
2) How 'bout a bung ( or 2 with plugs ) for 1 or 2 O2 sensors?
3) Very pretty welds on the outside - how much has to be ground off the inside of the header flanges?
jeff
... doesn't want much... :)

Simon, Looks nice! Can you confirm for me whether/not this will fit an '86 Spider fitted with '74 manifolds? How will the inclusion of a cat affect the flow performance?
Thanks

buy it!
I couldn't wait for Simon and ended up having a very similar system made on my own. My advice: buy Simons! It's a great deal and worth it. And note most exhaust shops, even those that regularly use stainless tubing, often weld with regular welding rod, ending up with welds that will rust.
My system is also stainless, and note that it grows in length a bit when it heats up. That may effect exactly how you place things. My tail pipe would thunk against the body at the exhaust tip, and took a bit of adjustment to fit perfectly.
The muffler combo sounds GREAT. At small throttle openings things are reasonably quiet. But open up the throttle and you get a great racecar style roar. Perfect combo of quiet for the local neighborhhod, yet a fun roar getting on the highway on ramp!
Pic below of my system installed, (but buy Simon's!):

I assume Floor mounted pedals will work with this system, since the first test mule was one? Just asking since this is the final product...

Nice installation. What did you shoot the underside of the car with? Thanks for the report on the exhaust system.

very, very nice! congrats and thank you for working with magnaflow to get us alfisti a quality stainless exhaust kit. Very trick looking welds and clamps. It does beg the question, where's the ss headers?
hey vintage veloce, wow-nice undercarriage-looks like a hospital under there...I never thought I'd see a diff pumpkin so clean I could actually eat off it! however, i did see a bit of dirt on your tires.

Testing a prototype system mounted to a stock 1600 did show a small increase in both HP and TQ. Unfortunately both of the test mules that we used for final fitment were not dynoed for before/after comparisons. My car was dynoed after installation of the system and you can see the result in this thread. I don’t think you will see huge increases in performance unless you have any engine modifications that can take advantage of a better breathing system. You will however notice a unique stainless steel exhaust note and a system that will never need to be replaced due to rust issues.
Hopefully at the next MAGNAFLOW dyno day we can get a car that has some modifications to the engine but still has a stock exhaust system for a real brow raising before/after run.
