There have only been about two or three installations that I know of that used the system with non OEM exhaust manifolds/headers.
Here is a link to dyno results before and after of a car that had headers and the adapters mated to the MAGNAFLOW system.

Magna Flow Availability
As of today, do you have any of the systems available? Appears to be very good quality. Would need complete system for 86 Spider. What is the cost? If not, when does the new shippment arrive? What will be the new cost-out/the/door?

To use this system on your car you would need to backdate the exhaust manifold to a pre-'74 spider manifold. Another thing to note is you would no longer have a catalitic converter.
Right now I have one system left that is spoken for but not paid for. So I'll keep you posted should its status change.
The next batch of systems will not be available for a few months and at that time they will be $625.

I just received mine today...opened it up and looks sharp.

Sorry The system is fitted for 105/115 GTV's and Spider's.
Although there have been a few other installations that have used our system as a starting point. In each one of those other instances they were still using a 1750 or 2000 motor.

Well I have mine now installed.
The shop I used cracked my exhaust manifold, in which I was pretty mad.
Luckily, my mechanic had a few spares and he was kind enough to change this
over for me this afternoon.
Attached are some pics. The shop that installed it had some Magnaflow tips and this is the one I chose.
I am very happy with this system, sounds very good and would recommend it 100%.

You don't have your front Exhaust Hanger, it attaches to the rear of the transmission housing/case (where the rear motor/transmission mount housing attaches to the transmission case). You might want to source one maybe from APE or Denoya Trading Post, and get some new Rubber mounts for it from IA, and throw it in there. It will help with exhaust vibration...

That Magnaflow system is designed to not have that muffler.

I was refferring to the mount/hanger, not muffler. You notice he has the brace attached to nothing in the above pic...
I am not even sure how my post could have been confusing like that...
P.S. I have edited the message to be a little more clear I hope. I could add pics of what I am refferring to if needed...

Got mine today! Looks very good.. the system on my berlina is very much just patched together from various bits and pieces. Think there will be a problem putting it on the Berlina since the car is a bit longer? In other words, should I take it to a muffler shop and have them put it on, or do we think it will fit out of the box? I have no qualms about doing all the work myself, up to the point of welding.

OK, between all the pics and the sound bites, you guys have got me inspired!
I have a '73 Spider rust-bucket that has been sitting in my garage on stands for a few years now, but I'm going to get back to work on it this weekend for sure!
I just got some Cromodora's off of Ebay, so I'll get them sandblasted and powder coated next week. Next project is to finish cutting out the old floorboards so I can get the new ones in.
As soon as that new batch of pipes gets in, I'll have to get one of those too. My stock pipes are completely rusted through.
Keep me energized!

Boy, they look great. Just a note. You might want to test their fit on a '69 gtv. The angle of the drop tubes is different from that in later gtvs. I've learned this the hard way with a stock CISAM system from IAP, which does not fit. This means the first hangar doesn't line up and the straight section is up against the bottom of the car. According to Centerline, the "69 is unique in this way and that although CISAM makes good systems they aren't too careful when labelling them for specific car years.
Next time I'll probably go with a system like yours-I guess you get what you pay for!

Sorry, I should have done my homework and looked at this entire thread before adding my 2 cents. Seems like many have to do some minor tweaking to get proper clearance/alignment. However, I'm curious to know from those who have cracked their stock iron headers how this happened. Some have suggested using wooden wedges to set proper clearances before fully tightening the system. Is this dangerous in terms of stress on the header?
Although IAP is waiting to see how I work things out, it is likely that they sold me a set-up for a Berlina since I had to shorten it by about 8". Now all the hangers line up reasonably well but the first hanger on the exhaust (the main one that bolts to the horizontal, 2-bushing plate hanging off the transmission) rests about 1" higher than the mounting plate on the tranny. I can get the 2 pieces to mate but only with considerable torture to those rubber bushings which are new. New motor mounts so that isn't the problem. Are these 2 mating surfaces supposed to line up better without much force?
I was thinking of disconnecting all hangers and applying downward pressure on the tail pipe, perhaps with the system hot from running to operating temp first, to try to line things up better. Is this a really stupid idea? High likelihood of cracking header? Since I only have 1 place where there is a pipe clamp, I have very few options for making simple corrections by loosening/retightening different exhaust segments.
