It appears that the system fits well on Bryan's GTV...........with floor pedals.

Hello again Dan,
I have mislead you then. I removed the front resonator, which is like a mini-muffler. It is a pass through muffler, with holes in the pipe, and outside those holes are fiberglass, steel wool, whatever they put in those things. So the exhaust would pass through and expand through these holes into the packing, and etc...
The expansion at this stage in my exhaust system with a Sperry Stage Five head was not good, too much back pressure was caused, and I had to remove it and installed a pipe in its place so the engine could breath better, and breath better it did. My seat of the pants engine diagnosis was confirmed that I had a problem when we discovered the hotspot in the front resonator, and there was no evident blockage in the resonator after we removed it.
I hope this is clearer.

Hello Biscione,
I don't want this to mislead people with standing/floor pedals. What I have and I assume Bryan does as well, is a Hydraulic standing pedal system, which is different then the cable clutch standing system.
By looking at photos, I do not think this Magnaflow system will work on cars with standing pedals that have the cable clutch, the linkages will be in the way...
However, standing pedals with the hydraulic linkages I believe and it seems confirmed by Bryan, (I look forward to his pictures for final inspection) will be ok, as the linkages are farther away from the chassis rail.

Still to be determined. It clears, but barely. It did not seem to rub, but the clearance is VERY close, probably 3-4 mil. I have only driven it once, but I will continue my reports asap. I should meet with Simon either tonight or tomorrow to have him take a look and get his feedback.

Congrats, looks like a great system! I still have my parts in their boxes, waiting for putting my poor car back together. The bottomside of mine is *starting* to look like vintageveloce's...coating it with bedliner now...
I hpoe my custom built Magnaflow system is as nice as this one has turned out!

Looking at the pictures of Bryan's engine compartment, it appears that he has a brake fluid reservoir but not a clutch fluid reservoir; so I would assume that Bryan has the cable clutch mechanism.

I believe I have the cable clutch mechanism you are referring to. The exhaust goes to the side of it by a few inches, but wraps around very near the "box" for the pedals. I'll post pics this weekend.

the first pic shows the clearance between the pipe and pedal box. You can actually get a better view from above, I will try to post that soon.

Hi Simon,
Do you think your exhaust system would fit my Junior Zagato which has a 1600 engine instead of the original 1300?
Cheers, Adrian

Adrian,
While I am not familiar with JRZ's in short Id have to say no it won't fit right out of the box.
I do think that with some modification that it could possibly made to fit and depending on your local shops rates you might be ahead of the game with one of these sytems. Are you anywhere near So Cal? If yes maybee we could meet and try to mount a system on your car.

When will it be available for GTs w/1600 cc engines??? Would any of the sections fit (for example, the middle/rear muffler)?

Simon, could you please record an audio file of your car running with the Magnaflow? Thank you! BTW, the system looks wonderful!
Do you have any diagram of the exhaust system with all the dimensions etc? It's difficult for me to order the Magnaflow because of the high shipping costs. I am considering of building such a system here in Greece so it would be nice for me to have the detailed diagram of it and make something similar. Thanks!

flange fit
How have the flanges been lining up on those systems you all have installed so far? I got mine in the mail this week and am ready to start wrenching, but the flanges look a little out of parallel to me which seems odd. The OEM exhaust that I just took off wasn't like that, and I worry about putting much stress on the cast iron to make it fit. Should I worry, or just bolt it all up tight and forget about it? Opinions?
