I believe that they are going to be in full production, so I am pretty sure there will not be a supply issue. The built tooling from our fitted systems so they can accurately reproduce them whenever the is a demand.
I dont think anyone need worry!

Yes, we still have systems. To purchase one, either email Simon or I.

Wow, that's really a beautiful system! It's so nice it's almost a shame to hide the system under the car.....how about a side exhaust like the early racers?
Are you specifying pre-'75 because of the change in exhaust manifolds or because of under-the-car differences that I can't think of(so it would nicely fit a '76 spider with the earlier manifold)?

There are currently no plans for production of side exit exhaust.
Yes, we are specifying pre 75 because of the emissions items found on later cars. If a car is converted to the 74 and earlier exhaust manifold, the system will work.

Yes at the moment Alfa BB is the only place to buy these exhaust systems. Since our online store is currently down, you would have to email Simon or I about purchasing one. He is currently on vacation for the remainder of the week so there is no chance of the store coming on before the weekend.

Any specific reason the first "stock" can, which I believe was classified as an "expansion chamber" was eliminated? Seems some thought that that and the 2nd muffler was needed for proper back pressure while the end muffler was the one that could be eliminated if you wanted more "tone" without sacrificing any negitivity in back pressure.

I have had two Alfa GTVs with the first resonator removed. In both cases the engines had Polished and Ported heads, larger valves etc...
With my lastest GTJr it had a new exhaust system installed when I purcahsed it. the car suffered from breathing problems, and I took it to the muffler shop to have the front resonator removed. When we put it up in the air, we saw that the front resonator was already rusting from a hot spot caused by too much back pressure. Off it came, and the engine liked that much better... When we removed it we checked it for blockage, but there was none.
So I assume that a stock engine does like the stock exhaust layout, but a modified one, for me two engines have been like this, enjoy not having the front resonator.
I am in no way proving anything with my statements, and have done no testing. I am simply sharing my experiences...

Hmmmm. Was the front resonator empty? If not, what was in there? I, too, have heard the expansion chamber theory and need to fabricate an exhaust soon.

Hello Dan!
Are you directing your question to me?
If so, I do not feel I understand what you are asking. But I will take a stab.
There was nothing blocking my front resonator. It was a straight through pipe, just that the expansion effect was not good for my engine, I assume it was too soon and caused alot of heat build up there, hence the hot spot.

Yes, the question was for you, James. I was curious if the front resonator was an empty shell, as you confirmed, or if it had internal baffling or fiberglass packing or something.
Thanx-

Anthony, my question about the side exhaust was tongue-in-cheek, brought about mostly by how great the whole system looked installed(and out of sight). Corvette sidepipes were bad enough to get burned on, I can't imagine an exhaust system that was just inches below the window opening, no matter how great it looked.

Just got this intalled on my '67 last nigt. Only took about 3 hours, and I'm a slow mechanic. Sounds AWESOME! The fit and finish are impressive. It's mellow and burbly at idle and low speeds/easy throttle. But when you get on it, it sounds very aggressive with just the right volume for my taste (loud enough where the cars near you know what an Alfa should sound like, but not loud enough where the people in their homes two blocks away can hear you). I will try to get some sound clips soon. I took some install pics I will post asap.
Great product. Highly recommended. Thanks Simon.
