Does Simon have a website for his product? I have a 75 Spider (S2-115.41). I assume he makes different kits for different configurations. Correct?

Right now we just sell them via this thread. Email or PM by clicking on my username if interested.
This system will fit a '75 spider if it is using a pre-74 exhaust manifold. Due to lack of demand we have no systems with CATs on them for the later year models.

Simon,
How 'bout just a cat-back system for the later Spiders in the same 2.25 inch diameter? This way, you wouldn't have to worry about what people have in the front section, and this cost-effective mid and rear exhaust alternative could be of interest to enough people to warrant a production run... (Yeah, I need one now! )
Best regards,

The exhaust shop can put a cat in while he's at it. You wouldn't want your old cat in there with the restrictive 2" diameter would you? The system would be worthless to your car then. They should have access to Magnaflows 2.25" cats easily and they can weld it in place.
I think the beauty of this sytem is the "Y" piece they created. If you want a catback system, just go to a shop that does stainless and have them make it for you. I just brought my Alfetta to a stainless shop and made custom stainless from the cat back, with a Magnaflow center and rear for $616 total. And in case you are not familiar with Alfettas, the bend over the rear axel is very tough to dupicate. It comes very close to the rear sway bar and the rear caliper. He spent quite a bit of time with that area. Spiders and GTVs have more room back there and they would spend much less time doing the sytem.

I don't think you understood my post... I'm not contemplating, much less suggesting that anyone mate a 2.25 inch Magnaflow cat-back system to a stock or 2 inch front system... I am interested in a 2.25 inch cat back system, which is why I suggested it. The suggestion addresses only the cat-back portion because that section doesn't vary and thus, Simon wouldn't have to account for the many variations that exist in the front section.
I am also aware of the custom work that could be done. However, with several Spiders to fit, the cost adds up very quickly, which is why I believe that a ready-made cat-back system would be a more cost-effective and financially viable option.
Best regards,

Ok, sorry. I was thinking of (-cat) back. That term always throws me off.

A couple weeks ago the new MagnaFlow system got installed on my Super. The only modification required was the addition of about 6" of pipe in front of the loop over the axle. The system was designed for the GTV, and the Super has a slightly longer wheelbase, requiring the addition. I'll get some pictures the next time I see the car up on a lift. The sound is better than I expected, with a low mellow rumble at idle, and a loud but not obnoxious roar at higher rpm's. I'll also make a audio recording to post here in this thread.

Here's a picture of the Magnaflow muffler on my Super, and the section added to account for the Super longer wheelbase.

Very interesting Gifford. There have been some other installs on supers and the need to have the system extended never came up.
