Wow, sounds just like the system on my GTV that came from OKParts in Germany!
Mild......until you stand on it!

Simon,
Have you got any systems on hand, I'm thinking about getting one for my Super.

Hi - I went through most of this thread...so I apologize if this issue already came up. Does this system fit a 91 Spider? If so, are there mods that need to be made (in particular, losing the cat)?
I desperately need to improve the sound of my Spider...in the interim, I'm considering the Stinger pipe from Centerline. But the Magnaflow unit looks and sounds great.
Thanks,
Fran

We just got a fresh batch of systems in 06/17/08 so get 'em while they last.
Anyone interested can send me a PM by clicking on my user name or email to simon [at] alfabb dot com.

Nice system. Curious, what went into the decision for the length of the secondary collectors? They seem shorter than the prototype. Thanks.

Nader,
I'm not sure which images you are making a comparison between but the system has pretty much been the same since its original design. All of the measurements and decisions for what size pipes, collector & mufflers were designed by the team at Magnaflow who have years of experience doing exactly this.
All dyno results to date have always shown improvement in both HP and TQ over stock configurations. Not to mention that this is a S/S system that will not rot out like most everything else out there.

Hi Simon, I believe it's your own picture. I'm not doubting the performance improvements of the final design, I'm just curious why it was changed. Ultimately, I hope this system will end up on my street car (if I don't piss you off here), but it'll have to be cut to fit my Ansa headers that have the longer secondaries.

Well as I'm installing one of these systems on my 1967 GTV, I will post pictures and comments. The engine is still an original 1600 with cast manifolds.
The first step is removal; so I jacked up the car on its side and went to work.

The down pipe section on the car must be a 2 liter type as it hangs down a bit too low. Before removing any nuts or bolts I used LPS spray to lube them. I find this product to be better at this kind of a job than the commonly available WD40, as it is more of a penetrating oil.
