Mysterious Alfa Hub Cap - Picture

I've had this set of hub caps for a very long time and have never seen another set like it. Anyone know whats the deal with these? They came in a box of spares with a '69 Spider my dad owned a while back.

Are they metal or plastic? I've seen plastic hubcaps that came on GTjrs.; unfortunately they were in worn condition. Yours look fantastic.

They are actually made of plastic. I have never seen these on any other car (in person or in books). The fit onto 14" steel wheels like the ones found on 1969-1971 GTV's, Spider's, and Berlina's.

Anthony,
I've seen one set before: Back in the mid eighties, while in college, I worked at an Alfa repair shop. One of the mechanics had a 67 Duetto with the very same hubcaps. I believe he still has the car.

I'll bet those were a special commemorative edition thing to celebrate Alfa racing victories. I'd look into contacting Don Black and see if he remembers anything about them.

Plastic Quadrifoglio Wheels

I just recently launched a thread inquiring about my similar ones. They were silver-chrome and black, with a green quadrifoglio. See link.

I just sold them on e-bay for a song. Hope they found a good home! Still no answer on where they came form or why they were made. Certainly not many of these around. Even stumped all the usual Alfapostles. Someone told me to find some (any) 80 year-old Italian guy in New Jersey who would know.
