Wireframe Carello Wipers
There is discussion in this thread about when the Carello wireframe wipers were used. I thought I'd open this up for the broader crowd as I have a pile of wipers and I figure I should only clean up the correct ones. So any ideas about which years/models may have had these fitted at the factory?

Here are some of mine.
1 is the wireframe type.
2 & 3 the 'wireframe' type arm with a different wiper blade fitted (do you like the lovely owner fitted wire holding it together)
4 & 5 are the 'hook end' type which seems most common.
All cars that these were removed from were between 1965 & 1967.

My '65 275GTB Ferrari came with wireframe arms. My '65 Alfa 1600 Veloce Spider had solid arms.

Hmm, I am not sure, however I found one pair from very original '72 Unificata Super, these are currently on my '69 Super. Black&white picture in Derek's first post shows wireframe Carellos clearly. Picture is from Quattroroute magazines road test article, June 1972
I think there were many suppliers for such a parts in back days, hard to say if Carello was one of them or not. As we know Carello has made many sort of parts for Alfa, so probably wiper blades/arms as well.

Better pics
As you can see mine are designed for "straight-cut" arms. Has anyone seen wireframe wipers for "hook-end" arms?

Thanks for the pics !
My '70 1600 S has the same blades w/ straight ends marked "Carello, Trico"
The spare set just has the "Trico" mark but look the same.

This is the set on my '65 Ferrari 275 GTB. They are marked "Speedblade" and "Made in England".
Dead fly in picture 2 is optional.

Ok, now this is going interesting! Trico Speedblade(as Gordon's pictures) need to be the "original product" and Carello has just made them with Trico's license, or so?

My '73 U.S. Berlina, which was fairly original when I bought it in '83/84 had them. They worked very well. I even epoxied one wire end that had the spot-weld let go, which lasted for many years, until the car was totaled. It is the one pair of parts I wished I'd pulled off before I let her go.
Mine were marked Carello, w/ no Trico stamping as I recall.

hi all,
My 69 build, 70 reg. Cdn Spec Super has one wire blade frame marked "CARELLO LICENZA TRICO" and is 12.5" long. The second is marked "SPEEDFRAME MADE IN ENGLAND" and is 13.5" long. I have no reason to think it did'nt come that way. I am third owner.
