What do Alfa owners do?
Since I joined the board a few months ago, I have looked forward to reading and replying to postings everyday.
You begin to feel as if you really know the other users on a personal level even thought they are hundreds of miles away.
One thing that I always wondered about was, what are all these people doing online all day long? Don't they have jobs?
( myself included )
So, I am asking the question:
What do you do for a living?

Architect. Use to be a Professor. I think College Professors have the market cornered on beater spiders...don't know why.
When I taught in Colorado three of us in the Architecture Department had Milano's...we all came with them, not like we planned it. When I was a student at Texas it seemed like the faculty lot was half full of Spiders...those were the days!

Student at Universal Technical Institute. I might be a Porsche, BMW or Audi mechanic.
Porsche is very hard to get into.
BMW has an excellent program (long), which accumulate to becoming a master tech faster.
Audi, the easiest to get into.
Hope for the best.

I am an Environmental Designer and College Professor and have the only running Alfa in town. I know of 3 others, all Spiders, mine is the oldest. ('78)
When I was here as a student in the late '60's and early '70's, Alfa was the car of choice for most sports car enthusiasts as it was the easiest to work on and relatively inexpensive to buy used, for the late '50's/early '60's models anyway. (I remember helping a friend "rebuild" his 1300 over a long weekend in my kitchen. Used the large limb of the tree in the back yard as the support for the pully to remove the motor/trans).
This is my first Alfa, but have lusted for one since I took a test drive in a new '68 Duetto, in Hawaii, the summer after my HS graduation.

You mean when I'm not posting to the BB?
My official title is director of maintenance which basically means I keep 3 powdercoating production lines and one electrocoat production line as well as the 110,000 sq ft building they're in all in working order. But I'm really the company's process system controls designer/builder, industrial electrician, plumber, welder, chemist, pipe fitter, boiler operator, forklift mechanic, waste treatment plant operator, lab technician, PLC and VFD programmer, work instruction writer, snowplow operator and lightbulb changer. Thankfully though, not all at the same time!

I'm a Bond Salesman. I cover large instutional accounts all over the Eastern third of the country for taxable fixed income products.
I like working in my '86 Graduate almost as much as I love driving it. It's more fun when you know what the hamsters are doing under the hood!

I have retired three times so far. I was in the Computer Maintenance business long time ago when people fixed computers. Moved from field tech to Senior VP. I should never have left the field. Fixing things makes me happy. Answering dumbo questions for super dumbo board members does not.
Also owned a vintage Ford parts business and was office manager at an independent Ferrari Repair shop named Servizio, Inc.
Anthony, you work at the company that makes those grapefruit shooter exhaust pipes for Hondas. cool.

My official title is Senior Pharmaceutical Sales Consultant. I have held positions with UpJohn, Pharmacia, and Pfizer.....all through mergers. I have had experience in primary care sales, Institutional/Hospital sales, and most recently in transplant sales. For fun, I love to fly Cessnas and keep the Alfas going. Final thought.....put Pfizer into your portfolio so my stock options will go up.
Best Regards,
John M

yup we do sell potato slinger exhaust systems and turbo's and suspesions and all those other goodies for the "import car scene". i'm cool with it, it allows me to pay my bills and keep my alfa's going, but you will NEVER see me owning one of those cars.
funny side note...road and track was over today to take pics of one of the cars at work. as the photographer was setting up he saw my gt junior in the parking lot. asked whose it was and i told him it was mine. he started to take a few pics of it before the car he was supposed to take pictues of. the guys at work were puzzled by this! they asked him why he went crazy over the alfa...it's just some old car. the photographer simply said "have anthony take you for a ride and you will see why these cars are still so awesome 30 years later". now, thanks to him, i have to give about 5-10 co-workers rides in the car on monday.
