I am in the utility business, its family owned and run. We build and run water and wastewater plants as well as water systems. Our biggest client is a 4000 acre subdivision and golf course owned by Clint Eastwood, we have 2 water plants and one reclamation facility with one more water plant soon to be built...all state of the art. We also run a water system that feeds aprx 260 homes in Carmel Highlands and run a small wastewater plant at a local upscale lodge.

I'm a retired US Navy Captain. Knew Alex Csank when I was stationed in Virginia Beach--hi Alex!

Now living on the northshore of Lake Pontchartrain, about 45 minutes from New Orleans, where I work as a realtor to keep my race car in parts and tires and racing gas.

I don't see many Alfas around here, but there are a few. And my '57 Spider gets compliments every time I drive it. I'm surprised at how many people know what it is, too.

When people see my Milano autocrosser they are often confused--Alfa made 4 door sedans???

Self employed Real Estate Appraiser. Residential mostly. Nothing like being your own boss.

I spent many years as an engineer in aerospace, so I guess I'm a combo of some of the more common occupations mentioned throughout this interesting thread.

I'm now coordinating the Six Sigma and New Product Development programs with a company 5 minutes from home. Needless to say, from Spring through Fall, I take the LONG way home!

My job descripton would be Construction Manager / Realtor .Basically I am what we call Down Under a Registered Builder with a Real Estate license and I am very impressed by the level of education on this site but not suprised as three of my best friends fellow Alfisti in Oz hold the positions of Doctor,Lawyer and Stockbroker and three of my Alfa's were previously owned by Specialists in the medical field and one was owned by and Engineer in the Petrochemical Industrie So what does this tell me ? you need to be filthy rich to keep Alfa's on the road ?

Well, I am a particle accelerator physicist. I make atom smashers work better, in this case for nuclear physics research. Sort of like working for the power company, but the electrons _we_ send out are fattened up and movin' fast down a vacuum pipe instead of a metal conductor. They weigh about 10,000 times what the ordinary electron weighs from the extra energy they are packing. (It's funny, really. If you calculate how fast the electrons in a power line are moving, it isn't very many centimeters per second. And since it's AC, they just sorta sit there and wiggle.)

I work as a Lead Production Tech at a Cryogenic Air Seperation facility. The facility produces Liquid Oxygen, Nitrogen, Argon (-300 deg. F temp. range), as well as O2 gas & CDA for a pipeline customer. Basically I am required to evaluate & solve equipment, control systems, and process problems and make it go (24/7 operation). I have worked around large equipment and processes since my discharge from the U.S. Navy in 1972.

Hey Zigzag:
At the moment I'm looking @ my Out-Spokin' Giordana jersey given to me by the shop owners about 16-17 yrs ago. I used to work for Specialized Bicycles for a long time, 14 yrs. to be exact. Got to know them because I telemarketed the state of SC, they did a lot of business with SBC at that time. Wonderful folks, I remember. Very cool jersey. I fell out politically with the 3rd or 4rth from the latest group of powers-that-be at SBC & haven't worked for SBC since, about 6yrs.. The Trek West types, as we used to call them. They didn't like the west coast mentality of thinking on our own & purged quite a few us during that time. Who owns the shop now?

Oh, by the way, I'm now a residential real estate appraiser.

Hey, Okiealfa:
How's your business? We're still busy here in Oregon, all the Seattle, LA, SF Bay Area, & NYC folks are still moving here because of the cheaper real estate prices. Still driving the market pretty well. Bruce
