Delicous looking pair: Autodelta unveils tuned Alfa Brera S and 159

Besting Prodrive: Autodelta unveils tuned Alfa Brera S and 159 J4 3.2 Compressore at MPH09 — Autoblog

Too bad that 1. we don't get these in the US, and 2. they're front-wheel drive.

But they sure are beautiful.

They look nice, and it looks like the quality of the mods is high. However the Brera is way too heavy, and the centrifugal supercharger, while a great choice for marketing just won't give the low end boost the engine needs get the Brera's Buick like weight moving along. I am not too crazy about removing the all wheel drive system to lighten the car. I think it would be better to go with a supercharging, turbo system that would add some low end and mid range so it could deal with the weight and leave the all wheel drive system in there. However, it's much less expensive, and easier to use a centrifugal unit. It also gives high peak horsepower numbers, which is all most buyers look at.

Also, for clarification I will mention that these cars are modified by the independent tuner "Autodelta UK". This is NOT the famous Autodelta that was a part of Alfa Romeo and has a famous racing history. It's another company using the name. Very clever from a marketing standpoint.
