that reminds us why we enjoy driving these cars. On the way home from work in my Alfetta GT on this beautiful Fall afternoon, as I launched away in a sweeping left turn from a stop light, I noticed a new BMW Z roadster rowing along beside me, pacing me. I glanced over to see a young man grinning wildly, and alternating his hand between pointing at the Alfetta, and pumping an enthusiastic 'thumbs up'. I laughed and waved back, and then noticed a new Mini in the rear view mirror shifting anxiously back and forth across the two lanes behind us, trying to find a way past us. The three of us darted about in a shifting cluster for about a quarter mile or so until the Mini shot by us when the Z fell in behind me as we slowed to enter a roundabout. The Z followed me as we tossed con brio through the roundabout, then with a "wing waggle" salute of his steering wheel, tucked off into a subdivision, leaving me with only the throaty growl and burble of the Webers. A good drive home indeed.
