Importing my 2001 Spider from Australia

I'm thinking of importng my 2001 Spider into Los Angeles California from Australia, it's a right side drive. So I have my concerns about if it will be easy to register or not. Has anyone else attempted anything like this.... I'm hoping for a little direction as I've called the DMV 5 times now and they seem to be saying it'll be easy.... but I don't buy it....I don't want to get it here and find its not happening. So any comments or advice would be appreciated especially from anyone who has maybe attempted this.

Ross

Tricky tricky tricky. If you're planning on being a permanent resident, it's so expensive it's nearly impossible. If you're not, well, the rules are different. I'm just not sure how.

California is its own balywick of rules and regulations to negotiate. This is the best source for how to do this. Glad we can be here to support.
