sola gearshift knobs?

Many years ago I had a beautiful nickel plated spherical Sola gearshift knob. These used to even be available thru the IAP catalog.
I remember buying one directly from the manufacturer, who seemed to be an individual man and was very helpful. He even provided one threaded for my Corvette that I had at the time.
I really want one again. And cannot find them anywhere! On the web, the only ones I see are made for Miatas... so maybe the guy is still around?
Does anyone know where I can find the manufacturer of the SOla knobs?

The only other nice spherical knobs I have seen are the Momo, which is too big in my opinion, and the Sparco, which is OK. But these Sola knobs where really wonderful....

I have enough trouble with my ash tray turning into a mirror... I don't think I'd want another ball of flame in the car.

burning desire

I have an spherical aluminum Momo knob on my GTV6. After that one hot day parked all day in the sun after I just put it on..went to shift after starting the car-OUCH!!! It felt like grabbing a hot cast iron pan!

After that experience, I'm more aware now when parking my car.

Use a windshield sunshade, shade the knob, carry driving gloves, and park in the shade, all depending on your level of sadistic pleasure.

Hmmm... I do remember the old knob getting pretty hot in the sun. But it was still a great piece. I also think the weight of it made the shifts a little easier. I'm not sure an aluminum one would have the same positive effect.
(Yup that does look like one Mark in Kentucky)

Carl: This is your lucky day, I happen to have a NOS pearlescent clear anodized SOLA knob still in the original packaging with the Alfa push on adapter that I got from IAP years ago that I never installed. I found a really good stock knob that I ended up putting on the Jr. Z so I never used this one. I looked up my old records of when I purchased it & I paid $49.00 for it. I'll sell it to you for whatever you think is fair. Let me know. Bruce

Jr Z.
Please email me directly at carl at liebold dot com so we can discuss!
Pearlescent clear? Does this mean that this is not a chrome knob? Is this a white color?
