AR 1982 -1983 sales figures

Arese 1981, 1982, & 1983 sales figures for United States. For numbers by year and color might require in-depth research for an automotive graduate student.

Here is a link to Elvira who could help with research.

I beelieve that Elvira is no longer (and not for a couple of years nows) with Alfa Storichio - there was a thread/several postings on this some years ago. as I seem to recall.

anyway. the VIN is not the same as the chassis number - I just looked at the email Elvira had sent to me some 3 years ago (I gave her the VIN and she responded with info keyed to the chassis no.) the last 6 digits - the consecutive no's allocated by the Production Department (according to the Owner's manual) are the same and they both start with ZAR, but that's about it. my sequence (to use chasgtv6's term) is ...6695...

and what am I'm missing here with folk's fear of listing their VIN? or at least the last 10 digits (which is what a register would use)? can somebody 'splain this to me?

Dean Martin and the GTV-6

From following the Archivo Storico Link above (an article: Alfa Romeo, The 52nd Star - Archivio Storico Alfa Romeo / Magazine )

In the meantime, numbers of ‘American’ Alfa Romeos began to grow: after the legendary Giulietta and Giulia ‘Duetto’ spiders, whose tradition has continued in more recent ‘American’ versions of Alfa Romeo spiders, came the Alfetta, in saloon and coupe versions, coinciding with the heyday of one of the great names in motor racing, Niki Lauda (driver with Brabham-Alfa Romeo in 1978), on the back of Alfa Romeo’s performances in Formula 1 and, in particular, at Long Beach and Detroit.
The Spider and Alfetta GT began to appear in the car parks and avenues of the most luxurious villas in Beverly Hills: Dean Martin, for example, was the proud owner of an Alfetta GTV 6C 2.5.

Elvira is active with the club "alfasport." The e-mail link should be good.

regarding chassis number - balocco # 211 ends in 000004177 - go figure. (Tom's #210 ends in 4208) Automobilismo Storico noted that 4177 was "prodotta il 20 aprile 1982" yet I found stickers on the rear bulk head under the rear seat noting 4/2/82. (at least is was built before the 25 of April holiday)
