Agree. I think that or a metallic bronze would work well on GTV-6 and its black trim pieces. I thought I recall seeing a metallic bronze color on either a Montreal or a late 60's early 70's Maserati.

As far as the original question, I'd go with the color that appeals to you the most, whether or not it is factory correct.

I agree that the above picture is too green, but I do like hdh racer x's suggestion:

That's a much deeper yellow than I have now, and I plan to stick with the same yellow I have currently, but that is the effect I want.

I like it.

So many good colours to choose, and you want something that looks like that Spider! I agree it's your car, but you will be criticised for the very reason you post here is to invite it. Do you really want to drive something that people look at, and talk about for the wrong reason??? All that time and money is yours, but you will have to live with your decisions.

From my comments you can see that I'm not in favour.

There was a gtv I saw that was Ferrari yellow, looked nice. But I think adding a slight pearl to a period color, since you like yellow I'd recommend: AR-109 Giallo Ocra - Ochre (also Autumn Gold) I like the darker blue: Blu Olandese (AR-343); darker red: Rosso Amaranto (AR-509). But those are all from the 70's, with the 80's the Alfa paint code site ALFA ROMEO PAINT CODES shows: Alfa Yellow Met.(AR-137) as being used in '82, but I couldn't find a picture of it, but the Spider might be close.

That's what I was looking for!

The yellow in 5yearplan's pic of the spider.
It goes to paint at the end of the week.

UPDATE: While I was in training, they decided to go with a Lamborghini Yellow from the 2003 color charts:

I'm not sure if this is the color, but there were two yellows for that year and I'm pretty sure this is it. It starts with an orange sorbet colored base.

I think it'll look good. But mine is hardly a safe opinion with those who worship factory stock.

*EDIT* I'm thinking Lancia Stratos lime green with flat black accents myself. But I'm trying to emphasize the whole 70's wedge-iness of the car. Ignoring of course that it was the Gandini wedges and not the Giugiaro cars that received the outrageously loud paint schemes. I'm also going on an exterior plastic trim delete binge.

cheers,
scott

Over the years there have been a number of times where I was a heart-beat from a speeding ticket, and I know if my car had been yellow (or red) they would have been!

I saw a gtv that was a dark olive green (in gloss, not military flat) it was really handsome, always thought a gtv6 or gt would look good that way.

GV

Saw the image you posted of the Lambos on your other thread ... I don't think i would choose it myself but that is a pretty cool color! It should look pretty wild ...
