Lift the bottom (seat) piece up with your hands from the front edge, it just pops up, then pull it out. For the "back" part you'll find a tab with one screw attaching it at the bottom left and one at the bottom right after you've taken the seat bottom out - remove screws, then lift up and the whole piece will come out. It's all very easy.

Indeed, only takes a couple minutes, and then you end up with more space for your goods without messing up the leather on those seats no one will ever sit in anyway...

I think the rear seats are actually very well formed, they are just very small. They must be perfect for 10-12 year old kids, or even 16 year old ladies :-) And Alfa had the nerve to advertise the Alfetta GT as "A coupé with room for FOUR ADULTS" (yeah, two inside and two outside, admiring its sleek curves :-) )

maybe if all of said occupants are UNDER 5 foot....you must be this short to ride this ride
wife is 6 foot im 6-4 ..we have a hard time putting anything in the back seat..with our seats ALL the way back and reclined to keep our heads from being in the sunroof
i think im going to build a fill panel for mine..something like seen in alot of 2seat newwer sport coupes

In the United States during the 1980's, auto insurance rates were cheaper for a four seater vs. two seater "salon". I also see the rear seats as an exercise in good design and useless function.

I think they were added for additional sound deadening of the driveshaft/transaxle

I would be interested to see what you come up with shortlife. I was thinking of just carpeting it. As it is concave from the tranny tunnel, seems like it would hold track tires well.

I was thinking, after carpeting and sound deadening, it would be a nice space for a picnic basket............and coolers, and so on (photo equipment, etc.).
That's my plan.

not mention that your 4 mounted 225/50-15 R compund race tires will then fit in the back for track days

there is a guy up in kent washington who has done what im thinking..fact is i liked everything he had done to his......tho his was mostly speaker box(remove the speakers and trun it into usefull space)....i think some storage like in a subaru brat or toyota mr2 or supra could be tied into the "finished" look of the gtv6 interior
i have to agree on the seat being a WONDERFUL sound deadner...ive been driveing around with the back seat out for the last few weeks tweeking the dakota digital getting the speedo to read correctly...and the seat cuts ALOT of noise

Useless space recoveed
We took out the seats and boxed in the back.
A flat board with a little front lip to keep boxes of wine from sliding forward on wine tours. Held in place with bolts into the old rear selt belt mounts.
The back was boxed in to hold 2 6x9 speakers. Also 2 slots in the back so that I can clip in my shoulder harneses for time trials.
Throw a little black carpeting over the whole thing. . .

Anybody who considers the GTV6 rear seat crampy should remember the records of grown (wo)men being transported in the back of Spiders (yes, there were models with factory back seats - perhaps Guantanamo offers better accomodation).
