Euro bumpers

Matt at ReOriginals can get them most likely, but his prices are steep.
Check E-bay in Italy or the UK.

A couple of years ago I got a new OEM set of Euro bumpers from Highwood, in England. They weren't cheap then, and with the exchange rate I'm sure they're not cheap now.

Three times, I've bought stainless bumpers from Australia. Also pricey - but honestly, worth every cent and more. Being you're closer to the East coast, I'd make friends with some Italians or Dutch folk and see if they can't locate you a set. The exchange rate is awful right now, so you may want to hold off until???

I've got a set of steel Alfetta GT bumpers in my garage. They came
off my race car. One is missing the black rubber strip. If you're interested
I'm sure we could work out a deal. I don't really want to sell them, but
they're just taking up space now and I'd like to see somebody get some
good use out of them. Feel free to e-mail me at: stevemoon@cs.com.

Steve

Search Ebay for Alfa paraurti (paraurti is bumper in Italian). Make sure to check Worldwide to capture Ebay Italy listings. In French, the word for bumper is pare. There is a set of sedan bumpers on Ebay France at the moment. The prices seem reasonable. I got mine from a nice Frenchman. He packed them well and shipping was cheap.

Steve, that's a great shot. You should add it to the 'Pictures of Alfettas' thread in the picture room.

SteveMoon. Terrific looking Alfetta GT. Too bad it is apparently no longer streetable. I'm curious: Steel bumpers? There are the US rubber baby bumpers with steel inside and there are 'Euro' stainless ones. Okay, I'll assume stainless steel. You're not selling the ones on your car are you? If you removed them to save weight I'd guess you saved ten pounds total.

I doubt if it is in my budget this week but I sure would love to have a straight pair for my Alfetta GT. Asking price? If low, shhhhh, don't tell the others and email me at acs@alfacybersite.com. Yes, my grade school report cards always said, "Does not play well with others."

Has anybody treid to fit Datsun '70ish 280z bumpers on the GTV6? They seem to be about the same front/rear end size and they even make nice fiber glass bumpers for $150 ea. I know fiber glass isn't going to help much my car is low enough in the front, everyone else's bumper would ride up over it anyway. Just looking to see if anyone has tried this, or am I the first guy to try and would start a new thread? I know I'll have to fab some new brackets and test fit and hassle with it but at least I'll get rid of the gigantic aluminum stuff. You won't feel bad about putting japanese stuff on italian?

Never actually tried it (I located Alfa bumpers before I got too desperate), but came close to pulling out a measuring tape on a 240Z that was parked not too far from my home for that very same idea. They do appear as if they may be a close fit. I was actually looking for my sedan at the time - as the 240's wrap around is very long like the sedan's - not sure it would work on the Alfetta coupe body style. Do the later 280's have a shorter wraparound?

I meant the 240z. I'm going to the pick and pull on Saturday and just get one and try it out, its on a '73 240z.

The other bumpers are at Motorsport Auto

At a distance I liked the look of the 240Z bumpers too. They have the some of the crisp edge look which only came into fashion in the 70's right at the time when the chrome/stainless look was on the outs. But up close I think you'll find the 240z bumpers are multi section and therefore not so attractive and probably hard to mate to alfetta.

Instead I went with sectioned 68/69 Camaro bumpers. Actually upside down front bumpers, a little over $100 brand new from Jegs. They have some of the rounded 60's look, which perhaps wouldn't blend with the edgy alfetta look. But I happend to place a used pair of used camaro bumpers against the car and their v shape does a great job of giving them an edgy look. Sectioning and chroming absorbed some dough though. Very happy with end result.
