Fixing gtv6 mirror

Hello, I have lots of trouble with my second hand Vitaloni 3133o mirror that I bought to a bber (the motor doesn´t work, the unit was welded on its base so couldn´t be turned and when sanding the metal cover, very bad rust was found).

Rust issues have been cared for by now and I think that when I paint the car I would probably buy a good used one that can be fixed. I had the electrci motor changed here, seems that BMWs use the same one, that what the guy told me.

I know have trouble with the welded base, the mirror could be turned in and was fixed at a very strange angle that made visibility very difficult. My mechanic unwelded the base, and was unable to find a good strong coil spring that holds the mirror in place. The mirror wobles a little bit and doesn´t hold its position as it should. I wanted to lknow if anyone knows of a spring that would work, or a way in which the mirror could hold its position and be able to move freely.
